Ryan Gosling could play his dream Marvel Cinematic Universe role in Phase 6, as his choice would be fitting for an upcoming movie. Gosling is one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, with the actor recently showing his action chops in the exhilarating The Fall Guy. Recently, rumors started spreading about Gosling being cast in a future MCU project. While there has been no official announcement on the matter, Gosling did reiterate he would be open to joining the MCU, once again talking about his dream Marvel role.
Gosling still wants to play Ghost Rider, saying, “I would love to. It would be amazing. Come in [and] be Ghost Rider.” The actor previously talked about his interest in the role, which made his way to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, who was quick to say that the MCU was open to Gosling. While Gosling would be perfect for many MCU characters, his desire to play Ghost Rider could convince Marvel to cast him, and Phase 6 would be the perfect place to do it.

After a series of delays and behind-the-scenes issues, Marvel Studios’ Blade will be released on November 7, 2025. The Phase 6 movie would be the ideal place to introduce Gosling as Ghost Rider. Mahershala Ali will lead the first major movie based on one of Marvel’s supernatural characters, not just magic-related, in the MCU. As such, Blade could be used to set up future MCU players like Ghost Rider. Adding to that, Gosling appearing as Johnny Blaze could also connect to a major team.

The Midnight Sons
There have been rumors that Marvel Studios intends to do a movie adaptation of its premiere supernatural team, the Midnight Sons, in the future. That would make a lot of sense, as the MCU seems to be building its roster of supernatural characters in recent years, as well as setting up multiple possible new teams like the Young Avengers, the West Coast Avengers, the Midnight Sons, and more. Gosling would be the perfect choice to play Ghost Rider if that is Marvel’s plan, as the actor could anchor an Avengers-level crossover movie with ease.
So far, there are multiple characters who could join the MCU’s Midnight Sons, including magic users like Doctor Strange and the Scarlet Witch, as well as monster-related characters like Man-Thing, Elsa Bloodstone, and Werewolf by Night — and others like Moon Knight or the possible return of Iron Fist. With Sacha Baron Cohen rumored to be playing Mephisto in Disney+’s upcoming Ironheart series, the path is set for the Midnight Sons to unite against a common threat. With his star power and enthusiasm to play Ghost Rider, Ryan Gosling could be one of the team’s main stars in Phase 6.
