The “Hiss” rapper revealed the highly anticipated news during her concert on Sunday, June 2.
Megan Thee Stallion is heating the summer up with a new album for the Hotties.
The “Body” rapper, 29, surprised fans amid her headlining Hot Girl Summer tour by announcing the arrival of her long-awaited third studio album, Megan, out June 28.
News of Megan arrives months after the “Bongos” rapper kicked off her series of snaked-themed singles “Cobra,” “Boa” and “Hiss,” the latter of which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart earlier this year. Speaking on the powerful motif in her recent L’Officiel cover story, Megan shared, “We don’t just stop at the snake,” on her new album.
“This is just what everybody sees right now. Renewal, rebirth: that is the whole concept of this [album],” she clarified. “We started with the snake because, first of all, I love snakes, but I feel like snakes are so misunderstood, especially in western culture. Snakes represent rebirth, spirituality. I’m not really a person that’s like, Oh my God, sunshine and just super bubbly, happy. I like darker things. I like things that are a little scary. I like things that are unique. I picked the snake because… it’s kind of like an antihero.”

The Traumazine artist also teased that she’s “tapping into other sounds” on Megan, her first album release since 2022, though she assured that the project is still “very much” her.
“It won’t feel like I went so left. It’ll feel true to me,” shared Megan. “You’ll almost be like, ‘I wouldn’t have thought she would’ve rapped over that, but this sounds great.’”
Megan’s album announcement also comes after she and GloRilla — who’s part of the Hot Girl Summer tour — teamed up with fellow collaborator Cardi B for a remix of their song “Wanna Be,” which dropped on May 31. The rap trio teased the single during their performance at Megan’s sold-out May 22 Madison Square Garden concert in N.Y.C.
“I think you should just tell them,” the “Thot S—” rap star said to GloRilla, 24, after the latter told the crowd, “We got a special motherf—ing announcement.”
“Y’all wanna hear ‘Wanna Be’ with motherf—ing Cardi B?” the “Tomorrow 2” rapper added before Megan confirmed the song was on the way.
As far as solo releases go, Megan fed her Hottie fanbase with new music in May with her #MeganMonday freestyles “I Think I Love Her” and “Like a G6.”
Megan will be available to stream and purchase on June 28.
