New set images tease what to expect in Stranger Things season 5. The eagerly anticipated final season of the hit Netflix series is currently in production. The Stranger Things season 4 ending raised the stakes like never before as the Upside Down invaded the town of Hawkins, Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) was cemented as the true villain of the entire series, and Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) was left in a coma. All the heroes in Stranger Things’ massive cast now need to unite to save the world from the Upside Down and to stop Vecna for good.
What Holly’s Appearance May Mean For Season 5
Previous Season 5 Set Photos May Tease A Possible Tragedy.
Holly may be following a similar trajectory as Lucas Sinclair’s (Caleb McLaughlin) sister, Erica Sinclair (Priah Nicole Ferguson), who was a minor Stranger Things character in season 2 before playing a more prominent role in seasons 3 and 4. Season 5 may feature Holly becoming just as involved with “the gang” as Erica has for the past two seasons. As the only Wheeler child who has missed most of the Upside Down action and drama, it will be intriguing to hear Holly’s perspective on past events, along with her perspective of what is happening now in Hawkins.
Seeing her with Mike presents the promising prospect of her older brother taking her under his wing, a role for Mike that the series hasn’t yet explored. Her older sister Nancy (Natalia Dyer) can also teach her many valuable lessons. Furthermore, her elevated appearance means that Holly has a bigger role in Stranger Things season 5, as teased in previous set photos. In particular, a set photo featured Holly interacting with Vecna in human form, which could hint at a possible tragedy for the Wheeler family. This lines up with a rumored episode titled “The Vanishing of [Blank] Wheeler,” which could refer to Holly.
If all three Wheeler children are actively involved in the fight against Vecna and the forces of the Upside Down, Karen Wheeler (Cara Buono) will be more worried than ever before about what all of her children are up to, especially since the Upside Down’s impact on Hawkins is now publicly visible. As the final season of Stranger Things, it’s exciting that even previously minor characters like Holly may get to play a more substantial role.
