Is Blake Lively a Nepo baby? Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are betraying the “working class” after this 4-word comment

The controversy surrounding Blake Lively’s career and Ryan Reynolds’ working-class comment, sparking debates about Lively’s nepo baby status.

Ryan Reynolds’ comment about his and Blake Lively’s “working-class” upbringings has been met with criticism, with fans pointing out Lively’s affluent upbringing and family ties to the entertainment industry.

Blake Lively’s parents were both actors, and she grew up in an affluent neighborhood in Los Angeles, attending Burbank High School and landing her first acting role in her father’s film at age 10.
Fans have accused Lively of being a “nepo baby,” citing her family’s deep ties to the film industry and the opportunities she received through her family connections.

Things are not looking good for Blake Lively, the actress who recently filed a lawsuit against her It Ends with Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni for s*xual harassment and allegedly running a smear campaign to ruin her reputation. Although some fans are appalled by seeing her complaint and the proof obtained by her legal reps, others believe the actress ruined her own image by the way she behaved in the press tour of the film.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are two of the biggest celebrities in Hollywood. Married since 2012, the duo have accumulated quite a bit of fortune between the two of them and understandably live quite a comfortable and lavish life.

Recently while talking about parenting and children, Reynolds made a comment that has turned out to be controversial for them. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Marvel star stated that he and his wife both grew up very working-class when discussing the differences in their upbringing and their four kids’ upbringing.

However, this comment did not sit right with the fans given how Lively comes from a family that works in the entertainment industry. Reportedly, her father Ernie Lively was an actor and director while he mother, Elaine Lively was an actor as well as a talent manager (via People).

Meanwhile, Reynolds’ father was a police officer and then later a food broker, while his mother worked in retail sales (via Vancouver Sun and People). Although he did have a comparatively modest upbringing in comparison to his wife, fans believe his ‘working-class’ comments are overreaching.

Blake Lively’s parents both worked in the film industry and the actress grew up in Tarzana, Los Angeles. Not only did she live in an affluent neighborhood but she also attended Burbank High School (via Vogue). Her first acting job was when her father cast her in his 1998 film, Sandman at the age of 10.

Furthermore, it was her elder brother who asked his agent to get Lively auditions which subsequently led her to be cast in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (via W). Moreover, all four of her siblings have followed their parents’ path to acting (via People), which yet again makes Ryan Reynolds’ ‘working-class’ comment insensitive. Thus, coming from a family that has deep ties with the film industry, it does not seem wrong when fans claim Blake Lively is a nepo baby. Given the upbringing she had and how she had grown up on sets (via Radio Free) and how her family played a part in helping her get her first acting roles, Reynolds’ claiming his wife grew up ‘working class’ feels wrong to fans and inauthentic.
