Known for her bubbliness, Emilia Clarke had the time of her life while shooting the HBO period drama Game of Thrones. Portraying the role of our beloved Khaleesi aka the Mother of Dragons, Clarke had to work alongside various actors portraying the men around her.

During the first season, the amount of nudity and s*x scenes were quite high. The intimate scenes between Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen were especially quite violent and hard to watch. The behind-the-scenes was completely opposite, however, and Emilia Clarke could not stop laughing when she saw something about Jason Momoa that made her laugh uncontrollably.

When Emilia Clarke Couldn’t Control Her Laughter

Talking about the forceful marriage of Daenerys Targaryen to the Dothraki horse lord, Emilia Clarke talked about a certain r*pe scene back in season one when their characters were just married. In her sarcastic voice, the actress started talking about the behind-the-scenes of the shooting and how a certain event made her laugh so uncontrollably that the shooting had to be temporarily stopped.

With intense amounts of nudity, Clarke stated that people often always try to lighten the mood. In trying to hide his body part, Jason Momoa decided to use a pink, fluffy sock instead of a normal one. Emilia Clarke recalled that she wasn’t able to stop her laughter due to the pink sock.

“So yeah, obviously, there’s nudity and you kind of try to and, like, lighten the mood. Not only was it a s*x scene, but it was kind of a violent s*x scene. So he [Jason Momoa] decided to not use a modesty sock, but use a beautiful pink, fluffly sock.”

The Secret Invasion actress further continued,

“So getting that close up for me, looking petrified and just like I didn’t want it to happen was just lots of laughter. It’s huge and it’s pink and I don’t know what to do,” the actress shared a hearty laugther after she realized what she had just said.

The clip is taken from her interview on The Graham Norton Show and has become quite an infamous clip on the Internet. Although the actress had fun while on the sets of Game of Thrones, Emilia Clarke revealed that she also felt lost on the sets while filming.

Emilia Clarke Was Really Sad On Game of Thrones

Being a journey, years in the making, a lot occurred on the sets of Game of Thrones that Emilia Clarke had to suffer through. As per the reports, the actress suffered two aneurysms with the loss of her father as well.

“There were times when I was really sad on that show, just simply because I was a young woman in her 20s. All of that happening while ‘Game of Thrones’ was happening, it sometimes could be very confusing.”

The actress ended her interview on a sweet note, however, that the role of Daenerys Targaryen was something that she was proud to be associated with.

“Daenerys, I hope, is associated with a certain caliber of work, so lucky me that that’s the case. As long as people don’t ask me about nudity.”
