Ross Marquand, star of The Walking Dead, The Avengers and more, has announced he recently had surgery to remove cancer from his nose.
The Walking Dead star Ross Marquand took to Instagram on Tuesday to confirm he has been diagnosed with cancer after “putting off” getting himself checked.
In his latest post, he revealed an image of himself in hospital after getting a growth from his nose removed.
The TV star, best known for his role as Aaron in the hit AMC show, took the opportunity to warn his fans not to avoid getting a doctor’s appointment if something seems wrong.
Ross wrote in the caption: “Well folks, I finally decided to listen – to family, friends, and fans.
“Countless people told me to get my nose checked over the past four years and I always said I was too busy and couldn’t possibly find the time…which was partially true.

“My schedule has been absolutely bonkers for longer than I can remember.”
As well as The Walking Dead, Ross is also known for voicing the Red Skull in the Avengers movies and numerous characters in Prime Video’s Invincible.
“But guess what?” he continued. “I let this problem fester and it grew into a cancer.
“I’m told this was one of the “better” cancers to get, but left unchecked it could’ve become much, much worse.”

Ross rarely shares on social media – his previous Instagram post was over a year ago to coincide with The Walking Dead’s finale – but took the time this week to open up about an important topic.
He went on: “I hesitate to share this because I’m usually a very private person but I’m posting this to encourage all of you to prioritize your health – be that physical, mental, or emotional.
“I clearly did not, and now I’m playing catch up. Hopefully I’ll have many more days to learn and grow – to be healthier, to be better…but nothing in this life is certain.
“Get yourself sorted and please don’t wait like I did.”
He signed off his post: “Lots of love to everyone for their kind words of support and encouragement, happy holidays, and oh yeah… #f**kcancer.”
Several fans posted supportive messages below the post before the actor disabled comments.
