Lucas Bravo has hinted he may not return to Emily in Paris, and an insider has revealed ‘the show will go on with or without’ him.
An Emily in Paris insider has revealed ‘everyone is so upset’ after Lucas Bravo made shocking comments about his time on the show as Emily’s love interest, Gabriel. While promoting his new project, Libre, he made comments that had Emily in Paris fans nervous, with the star saying that the show doesn’t “consider the intelligence” of the viewers.
“The show will go on with or without Lucas,” the insider told Us Weekly. “The show is Emily in Paris — not Gabriel in Paris.”
Throughout the series, Emily (Lily Collins) has been involved in a few love triangles with Gabriel, with season four ending with her in Rome with a new love interest Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) and Gabriel wanting to win her back.
Lucas Bravo compares Emily in Paris character Gabriel to ‘guacamole’
Lucas has revealed his real thoughts on Gabriel in the last few weeks, with the star saying he feels like the character has been “slowing turned into guacamole”.
Lucas has revealed his real thoughts on the character in the last few weeks, with the star saying he feels like Gabriel has been “slowing turned into guacamole”.
“In season 1, there was a lot of me in him. But as they made him kind of unaware of his surroundings, of the dynamic, always victimizing and always being completely lost in translation and oblivious to anything that is happening around him and being manipulated by everyone, it kind of became not fun for me to shoot,” he told IndieWire.
“Or to see a character I love so much and brought me so much, being slowly turned into guacamole. I really grew apart from him.”
He added, “It makes me question if I want to be part of season 5 — because my contract ends at season 4. I really want to see if Gabriel gets back to his fun, cheeky, playful, alive self.”
“Because three seasons playing melancholic, sad, depressed, and lost is not fun anymore. It’s a comedy, everybody is having fun around me, everybody is jumping around, and I’m just slowly sinking into god knows what.”
He has also spoke about the potential to appear in season five with Le Figaro, saying, “It will depend on the script because I think I’ve covered everything a bit. I don’t really have any freedom and, as I’m starting to be given some elsewhere, I’m getting a taste for it. Life is short. The filming of this series lasts five months. Do I want to sacrifice them to tell something that doesn’t stimulate me?”
“I don’t want to be part of a cog that tends not to consider the intelligence of the spectators.”
