DaBaby Wants Megan Thee Stallion To Work With Him Again | HipHopDX

DaBaby has called on Megan Thee Stallion to stop working with artists that he considers “lame” and get back to making music with him.

In a clip from his upcoming Drink Champs interview, the North Carolina native made it clear that he wants Megan to collaborate with him again.

“I got love for Meg. Me and Meg made some dope shit together and it’s good to see her rise above the obstacles,” he said, referencing the fallout from her 2020 shooting at the hands of Tory Lanez.

Baby then proposed a track for him and the Houston Hottie to reunite on: “I’m manifesting a song with Glo[Rilla], Meg and Baby together. I think that’s the way me and Meg should pop back out because I feel like ain’t none of these n-ggas — and no disrespect to who y’all making music with — can really embody that. You gotta come get that shit from Baby.”

He added: “Come home, baby. You ain’t gotta be making all that lame shit with these other n-ggas when you can come get it in. Or, you know, we can not. I know how to talk that shit […] I’m open to it. Shout out to Meg.”

Co-host N.O.R.E. agreed with DaBaby’s assessment and compared their musical chemistry to that of JAY-Z and Foxy Brown in the 1990s.

The pair released a string of successful collaborations together between 2019 and 2020, including the four-times platinum “Cry Baby,” the platinum-certified “Cash Shit” and “Nasty.”

While DaBaby is keen to rekindle their partnership, the feeling is unlikely to be reciprocated by Megan Thee Stallion given their complicated relationship in recent years.

DaBaby claimed in 2022 that the two of them slept together the day before she was shot by Tory Lanez.

He rapped on the track “Boogeyman”: “You play with me, that shit was childish / The day before she say that Tory Lanez shot her, I was fucking on Megan Thee Stallion / Waited to say this shit on my next album / Hit it the day before too / But I kept it playa, I ain’t say nothing ’bout it.”

Megan did not deny the claims, saying during a performance shortly after: “So look, I don’t know about y’all but I love my body. I do what I want to with my body, when I want to with my body, with who I want to with my body. ‘Cause it’s who? My body.”

The claim came to light last year as part of Lanez’s sentencing memorandum after being convicted of shooting Megan.

“During the victim’s performance, the defendant went through security clearance and entered the green room,” the memorandum read. “These areas were within 100 yards of the stage where the victim was performing, in violation of the protective order.”

It continued: “It was also brought to the victim’s attention that the defendant and DaBaby attempted to rush the stage during her performance. In no way was the victim previously aware of nor did she consent to the defendant’s presence at the venue when she would be performing.”
