Lily Collins is ready to live out one of the career aspirations she’s had since she was just a little girl.
The Emily in Paris star is heading to London to make her theatrical debut in the capital city’s West End for a live performance of the Bess Wohl and Lynette Linton play Barcelona.
Collins, 35, is scheduled for a three-month stint of performances at the Duke of York’s Theatre alongside fellow Netflix alum and Money Heist actor Álvaro Morte, celebrating the exciting venture with a first look at the artwork in an emotional post she made to Instagram on Friday.
“The countdown to my stage debut begins… So thrilled to share our official artwork for @barcelonatheplay at @dukeofyorksldn! A childhood dream come true, I couldn’t be more honored to star alongside @alvaromorte in this brilliant play written by @besswohl and directed by @lynettelinton1,” Collins wrote in the accompanying caption of her Sept. 20 upload.
“Already fluttering with excitement (and a healthy amount of nerves),” she added.
Fans appeared just as ecstatic over the big announcement as they showered the star with congratulatory messages.
“I quite literally CANNOT WAIT 😍,” gushed Collins’ co-star Ashley Park.
“Congratulations this is so cool,” another said with applause.
“‘Counting the days!!! ❤️'” a third exclaimed.
According to the production’s official description, the play follows the story of Irene (Collins), an American tourist who enjoys “a carefree, one-night stand” with Manuel (Morte) while in Barcelona. The show entertains a series of twists and turns “as the personal and political catastrophically intertwine” in this “seductive thriller” that explores “the fantasy of who we pretend to be, versus the truth of who we are.”
Tickets for the limited 12 weeks of shows running from Monday, Oct. 21 through Saturday, Jan. 11, are currently on sale.
