“You’re not going to believe how good it looks”: The Walking Dead’s Khary Payton Debunks 1 Rumor about Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra

Could Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra break Marvel’s bad luck in the gaming business?

Well, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is definitely on the way and is set to change Marvel’s bad luck in games other than the Spider-Man brand. The game is being developed by Skydance New Media and is inspired by the 2010 comic book limited series Captain America/Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers.

In addition to its interesting story, the game will offer a movie-like graphical experience with Unreal Engine 5. Some even believe that the shared in-game scenes are not real. Fortunately, we have a statement from an actor who is part of the game’s cast, debunking these rumors.

For those who don’t know, Khary Payton played the role of King Ezekiel for many years on AMC’s horror drama series The Walking Dead, and now he’s making a cool transition to Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra to become Marvel’s Black Panther.

The new Black Panther is heading to social media to refute some of the recent claims as the game’s release date approaches. Payton went to X, formerly known as Twitter, and said that the videos shared about the title were not pre-rendered cutscenes but in-game images. He also raised his fans’ expectations by saying, ‘You won’t believe how good it looks.

Alongside Khary Payton, the game’s cast includes Drew Moerlein as Captain America, Megalyn Echikunwoke as Nanali, Marque Richardson as Gabriel Jones, Lyne Renée as Julie, and Joel Johnstone as Howard Stark.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the upcoming Marvel game, built on Unreal Engine 5, looks pretty great. However, it’s important to note that if it doesn’t meet expectations, all the arrows of criticism will be aimed at this title.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will be released in 2025. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X platforms. Fans will control a squad of four characters in the game, including Steve Rogers/Captain America, Azzuri/Black Panther, Howling Commandos member Gabriel Jones, and Nanali.

So Could This Change the Bad Luck of Marvel Games?

Honestly, many fans have the same question: Can Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra really change Marvel’s bad luck in the gaming business, even just a little?

While Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man is a really successful brand in the gaming business, Peter Parker isn’t the only superhero in this massive universe. Sadly, many other superheroes have not been as successful in this area.

The upcoming Marvel addition could herald an important era in this field. Most notably, it will not feature co-op or multiplayer, indicating a departure from the live service concept. It appears the studio will prioritize delivering an immersive story to players over maximizing profits.
