The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live star Andrew Lincoln has addressed the show’s future.
The AMC series, which was billed as a limited series, concluded with an emotional finale on Sunday (March 31) that appeared to be a definitive ending for Rick and Michonne.
Showrunner Scott M. Gimple has since told Entertainment Weekly that there’s “nothing on the table” to continue The Ones Who Live but he has ideas for the characters moving forward.
As far as star Andrew Lincoln goes, he has said he’d “never say never” to revisiting the character Rick Grimes in the future.

“There are other very important characters in the universe that are still wandering around and alive that I think it might be quite exciting to have them breathe the same air and see how long they survive together. But it’s a difficult one. It would have to be like this, a really exciting story,” he said.
The actor wasn’t ready to say yet whether a second season of The Ones Who Live could even happen in the near future.
“I think what we’ve achieved in this series was hopefully a few surprises and character turns and sequences that we haven’t seen in 13 years before,” he said. “That was the exciting proposition — to chop my hand off, get back together with the love of my life and be reunited, and hopefully smash a few windows along the way and meet some great characters.”

Andrew went on: “That was thrilling that we did episodes and sequences that I’m intensely proud of and we haven’t seen before. If that were to come out of Gimple’s or Danai’s brain, and it was irresistible, then I think that there’s infinite chance that it might happen again. But I don’t know when.”
The Walking Dead universe is continuing, with Melissa McBride due to return as Carol Peletier in the second season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon as well as Maggie and Negan’s adventures in New York City in The Walking Dead: Dead City.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live aired on AMC in the US but doesn’t have an air date yet in the UK.
