Ryan Hurst as Beta The Walking Dead TWD

A hit country single from The Walking Dead’s Beta is available for fans to listen to right now. The Walking Dead’s Twitter account posted a single track from the whisperer himself performing in front of a screaming audience. The track is accompanied by an image of Beta, before the apocalypse, with his stage name, Half Moon. Titled “I Went to the Well,” the same track was used in the most recent episode, “Look at the Flowers” (directed by Daisy von Scherler Mayer), in which Beta finds a place that has his old album covers.

Showrunner Angela Kang revealed that the inspiration for Beta’s previous life before the apocalypse came from old albums of Gareth Brooks. While Beta’s true identity remains a mystery, he is likely to see further development as the show’s main villain, now that Alpha is no longer alive.

In the comics, Beta’s identity was revealed after he launched an attack on Alexandria using Alpha’s massive horde. There is no telling whether Kang will duplicate what had occurred in the comics or whether the show will go in a different direction.

The Walking Dead stars Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Jeffery Dean Morgan, Seth Gillian, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Samantha Morton, Cooper Andrews and Ryan Hurst.
