Fear the Walking Dead was the first spinoff of The Walking Dead, which paved the way for many more. Fear TWD premiered five years after the main series and ran for eight seasons, concluding in 2023. The TV universe comprises the main series, six spinoffs, and a long list of webisodes accompanying the storylines. Fear the Walking Dead Flight 462 is a 16=part mini-series tied to Fear TWD.
Each episode has a run time of under a minute and introduces Jake Powell (Brendan Meyer) and Alex (Michelle Ang), who would become cast members of Fear TWD in its second season. Used as promotion for the second season of Fear TWD, Flight 462 takes place on a plane during the onset of the outbreak.
Official synopsis: Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462 tells the story of a group of passengers aboard a commercial airplane during the earliest moments of the outbreak. Over the course of the series, the plane and the lives of its passengers are put in jeopardy once they discover an infected traveler.
Flight 462 was the first web series to tie directly to events in Fear TWD. Events unfold as a passenger onboard Flight 462, which was bound for Phoenix, Arizona, begins to attack an infect other passengers.
The final episode of the web series shows Nick Clark (Frank Dillane) of Fear TWD watching Flight 462 flying low and out of control. During the Fear TWD episode “Ouroboros,” viewers learn that the plane crashed along the coast, and only a few survived. Jake and Alex, who appear in “Ouroboros” in a life raft, are two survivors who meet Madison (Kim Dickens) and her group.
