With this week’s penultimate episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon airing last night on AMC and streaming on AMC+, we’re finally in the endgame. So how will the season wrap up in next week’s finale? We’ve got some predictions, based on that last scene of the episode — and what we know about Daryl Dixon Season 3.

Spoilers for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Season 2, Episode 5 – “The Book of Carol: Vouloir, C’est Pouvoir” past this point.

As a brief bit of recap, at the end of the episode Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), and Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) are ready to fly on Ash’s (Manish Dayal) plane back to America. Only issue? The plane can’t hold four people safely. As Ash says, bizarrely quoting Paris Hilton’s reality show The World According to Paris: “Paris, we have a problem.”

There’s a pretty clear solution here, based on how the plot has been rolling out. Ash lost his son early in the zombie apocalypse. Laurent has no family left, other than Daryl. And the kid definitely can’t be in France anymore, because there are multiple militaristic factions who either want to kill him or see him bit by a zombie. Which would, you know, kill him. Ergo there’s a good chance Ash heads off on that plane with Laurent.

But what about Carol and Daryl? We already know the duo are heading to Spain in Season 3, so they’re not getting on that plane with Ash and Laurent. How and why will they head south to Spain instead? I’d venture a guess that they’ll have to fight off what remains of the Union de L’Espoir after Daryl killed their leader, Losang (Joel de la Fuente). They’ll hold off the forces trying to kill Laurent, while the boy escapes on an airplane with Ash.

Alternatively, it’s possible that Carol and Daryl could pull a fake-out and lure the forces away from the plane. Either way, Carol and Daryl are continuing their Eurotrip… Ash and Laurent are almost definitely heading to the good ol’ US of A.

And what of the rest of the French cast? Will Fallou (Eriq Ebouaney) bring new hope to France? Will Anna Valery (Lukerya Ilyashenko) franchise the Demimonde and open up little underground clubs everywhere? And will Codron (Romain Levi) get even more seemingly fatal injuries and somehow, beyond all reason, survive? We’ll have to tune in to next week’s finale to find out.
