Ryan Gosling’s cheeky response to Stephen Colbert couldn’t have gotten wittier!
Besides being one of the most loved and appreciated celebrities in all of Hollywood, Ryan Gosling has also proven to be rather wittily charismatic offscreen as well. In fact, when it comes to places where he doesn’t want to overshare or let his personal thoughts out, the actor has a perfectly sarcastic way of sneaking his way out. Just like he did with Stephen Colbert recently.

Appearing on the 60-year-old comedian’s show, Gosling played the Colbert Questionert and had to answer a series of questions that would, apparently, open up his true self to the rest of the world. While he did manage to go through a majority of it unscathed, at one point, he used the most clever way to shut down Colbert, and fans have been praising him over his witty comeback ever since.
Ryan Gosling Shut Down Stephen Colbert with His Wit!
Recently, Ryan Gosling appeared on Colbert’s The Late Show to promote his latest movie, The Fall Guy. During this, he also embarked on the highly adventurous and incredibly hilarious journey of playing the thoroughly hard Colbert Questionert game, where he had to answer a series of questions to make his real personality known to the world.

And, unsurprisingly enough, Gosling managed to catch Colbert off-guard through his response to the very first question of this game, which was: “What is the best sandwich?” Answering him and earning a tremendous hollering applause from the audience, The Notebook actor said (via The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on YouTube): “Ice cream.”
This earned him an eyebrow raise followed by an “Oh, I see how this is going to go” from an amused Stephen Colbert who failed to hide his surprised reaction at Gosling’s genius answer. Continuing, the actor explained:
Because you can have all the sandwiches in the world, and it’d be a tough decision. But the ice cream sandwich comes out, your mind’s made up. The decision is made for you.

But the most hilarious part was what followed. After answering his question and explaining the true and magnificently understandable reason behind his extraordinary answer, the Barbie actor was met with another question, though this one stemmed from Colbert’s personal curiosity. He was asked: “Do you lick around the edges?”
This time, the Blade Runner 2049 star had an even wittier response prepared in advance for Colbert, once again catching him off-guard and shutting him down. Gosling cheekily responded:
Eh, that is none of your business, sir.
Effortlessly enough, this cracked up not only the audience but Colbert himself, and ever since then, fans can’t help but commend their favorite Hollywood heartthrob over his cheekily witty chops.

By shutting down even someone like Colbert in the incredibly cheeky manner that he did, Gosling seems to have won over fans even more than ever before. This becomes evident after looking at all the reactions fans are having to this very clip that Colbert shared to his Instagram handle @colbertlateshow.
If anything, not only are fans greatly amused by and enjoying this response from the Crazy, Stupid, Love actor but they are also commending him for how immaculately he tackled the situation. All in all, here’s what they’re saying in the comment section:
