Both have been spotted attending events individually in recent months, with their working relationship said to be “in a very bad state.”
Week after reports suggested that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are undergoing a ‘professional separation’, the Duchess of Sussex has issued a statement following her solo appearance at a Thanksgiving event last week, without her husband, Duke of Sussex.
Markle, 43, recently hosted a private dinner for the Southern California Welcome Project through the couple’s Archewell Foundation. Prince Harry, 40, did not attend the event. Both have been spotted attending events individually in recent months, with their working relationship said to be “in a very bad state.”
In a statement shared on the Archewell website, Meghan reflected on the “heartfelt dinner” she organised for Afghan women in collaboration with their partner organisation, Mina’s List.
“This initiative has spent the past year building community through storytelling and creating a safe space for women who have resettled in the US from Afghanistan,” the statement read.
The dinner featured a shared meal aimed at fostering open conversations on gratitude and resilience. Markle expressed her “deep appreciation” to the attendees for sharing their personal stories and cultural experiences, and plans to host similar gatherings in the future.
The event was hosted at Our Place, a cookware company founded by Shiza Shahid, with participants receiving new cookware as gifts for the holiday season.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry attended several Invictus Games-related events in Vancouver last week. The Duke and Duchess recently appeared together in a video for Veteran’s Day, discussing their efforts to prioritise children’s safety online through their foundation. In the video, Harry acknowledged they had been “at a crossroads” professionally in recent weeks.
The couple is expected to reunite publicly at the 2025 Invictus Games, scheduled to take place in Canada from 8 to 16 February. Last year, Meghan hinted that their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, might attend the upcoming event.
