A film series that has established itself as one of the goriest to ever grace screens has issued a major cast update.
A slasher film series that has become infamous for its ultra-violence has issued a major update on the cast of its much-anticipated new release.
Promising to be the bloodiest instalment yet in the series, Terrifier 3 is set to hit UK cinemas on October 25. The creepy horror follows the character of Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) as he wreaks havoc on anyone who crosses his path.
The first film, Terrifier, was released in 2016 and quickly shot to cult fame thanks to its chilling scenes and the brutality of its antagonist. Terrifier 2 took the degree of gore up a notch, delivering an immensely graphic display that left viewers wincing. But writer-director Damien Leone is prepped to dial up the horror even more in the next sequel.

Only this year, Leone brought fans to the edge of their seats with news about the wrap-up of some “insanely horrific scenes”, which were seemingly so intense even star Thornton found them unbearable. In a March update to fans, Leone wrote on Twitter /X: “Can honestly say we just filmed one of the most insanely horrific scenes of the Terrifier franchise and you’ll never believe who couldn’t handle it on set the bts is hilarious. Can’t wait for you all to see! “.
Straying away from the Halloween theme of previous movies, this one finds its backdrop in Christmas Eve. According to the film’s synopsis, Art will “unleash chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve,” reports the Daily Star.

Four fresh faces are set to grace the screen in the upcoming film, with Halloween and Ice Cream Man star Clint Howard leading the pack, according to Bloody Disgusting. The line-up also includes Fear the Walking Dead’s Antonella Rose, Scary Movie’s Jon Abrahams and Allegoria’s Krsy Fox.
Fans got a taste of what to expect in Terrifier 3’s teaser trailer where a child, upon hearing footsteps, descends the staircase thinking they’ve found Santa Claus, only to be greeted by Art the Clown wielding an axe. One fan humorously remarked after watching the clip: “Finally, a nice wholesome Christmas movie that the whole family can enjoy.”
Another expressed their mixed emotions stating it was the “only movie that makes you laugh your head off while being traumatised to your core at the same time.”
Terrifier 3 will release in the UK on October 25
