Serious question: are you ready for your mind to be blown? Because AMC have got some news that is going to shatter. Your. World.

They confirmed that The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad are set in the same universe. Whaaaat?!

There was a popular fan theory brought about last year that suggested Breaking Bad was about more than the life of Walter White and more about how his brand of ‘blue sky’ meth kick-started the zombie apocalypse that Rick and co find themselves in on The Walking Dead – or a prequel, if you will.

Well, now AMC seem to have all but confirmed that this theory could well be true in the latest episode of Fear The Walking Dead – the actual prequel to The Walking Dead.

In the most recent episode, Madison and Qaletaqa – played by Kim Dickens and Michael Greyeyes respectively – go into the crowded market, and the song Negro y Azul: The Ballad of Heisenberg is playing in the background.

Breaking Bad fans might recognise the hella catchy tune from series two of Breaking Bad, which is about a ‘gringo boss’ named Heisenberg and his infamous ‘blue meth’. Crazy, right?

Speaking with Digital Spy, Fear the Walking Dead showrunner Dave Erickson said of the song: ‘I tried to be subtle with it. That was probably the moment when I fell the most deeply in love with Breaking Bad, when they did that cold open music video.

‘As we were looking for pieces to incorporate into this world, it had the right vibe to it. It’s a gentle nod of admiration and adoration to [Breaking Bad creator] Vince Gilligan.’

If you need a sit-down go ahead, you deserve it, because this is almost too much. What’s next , Nick Clarke having some down-time with Walter White’s copy of Leave Of Grass? The Fear The Walking Dead team stumbling across a derelict Los Pollos Hermanos, where chicken-loving zombies are still queueing for a taste of Fring’s finest chicken? Oh my god we hope so.
