Meghan Markle spoke at an event in Oprah Winfrey’s Goodmothers bookstore in California, where she talked about what her life has been like since leaving the Royal Family
The Duchess of Sussex was one of the guest speakers at Oprah’s newly opened Goodmothers bookstore in California. Meghan said she has entered a “chapter of joy” during her speech, having moved on from her feud with the Royal Family.
Meghan was among several “light-filled” speakers at the store, which displayed several copies of Prince Harry’s memoir Spare. Body language expert Judi James suggested Meghan seemed to have taken some pointers from her husband and said she appeared “smug” as she addressed the audience.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror US, James said: “Not many royals have been on the same speaking event as a psychic medium but being described as ‘light-filled’ clearly suits Meghan as her body language here suggests she is very comfortable meeting up with her old friend Oprah at this book club event.

“Her hugs look as gracious and fulsome as ever and, holding the mic up to speak she seems to have performed a light-filled, beaming smile that looks copied from Harry’s body language repertoire, with a rather smug, fun look that he often adopts when he is relaxed and even joking with his audience.”
Meghan looked super stylish at the event as she wore a sleeveless black jumpsuit. As she addressed the crowd, she said: “I’m looking at this time as my chapter of joy.
“The more you are able to look at your life and really, truly recognize and be able to be grateful for your life – you have to be grateful for all aspects of it. My intentionality is to enjoy this chapter and be able to love through every piece of this as best we can.”

Goodmothers is co-owned by literary agent Jennifer Rudolph Walsh and opened last weekend with a series of events and conversations with celebrities and authors. The bookstore features a “hometown heroes” shelf where Harry’s memoir is showcased – despite his British roots.
Walsh explained the placement of the book. She stated: “This is our local authors shelf when you first walk in. I want it to be when you first walk in so that authors who are local to the area know that this is their hometown bookstore. And we celebrate our hometown authors as if they were our hometown heroes, because to us they are.”
