Ghost Rider Fans Are Upset About The Cancellation of The Rumored TV series

Marvel has had a plethora of franchises over the years but none of them could come close to the popularity matched by Ghost Rider, featuring Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze. The first film was released in 2007 which was a massive hit, and four years later, it got a strange sequel titled Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance. Though it was not a massive hit like the initial film, it was an intriguing watch as the film featured more action and watching Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze and his anti-hero avatar was an absolute blast.

It was heavily rumored that the character would have made its Marvel Cinematic Universe return in a TV Show. However, Marvel Studios decided to discard the character’s much-anticipated return as they butchered a number of popular titles that fans were looking forward to watching.

Marvel Decides To Pull The Plug On a Rumored Ghost Rider TV Show

The MCU is one of the biggest franchises of the last decade that has come up with some of the biggest smash-hit films, as they had found a new way to tell stories on the silver screen. With integrated storytelling techniques, Marvel introduced TV shows that were an extension of their storytelling technique.

However, this idea has not quite worked in their favor as big-budget TV Series like Secret Invasion, and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law were a major flop.

Recently, it was rumored that the MCU will grace its fans with intriguing projects that they would love to watch on their small screens. However, Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney decided to pull the plug on a number of projects, which also included a Ghost Rider TV Series. HolyField News (@HolyfieldM5) shared this news on X, where they mentioned that the rumored show got “fully cancelled so he could appear in a film.”

“Projects that CEO of Disney Bob Iger secretly cancelled at Marvel Studio’s, Vision Quest, Wakanda Series, Wiccan series, Witches road series and Armor Wars. Also no more special Presentations, and short Disney+ shows. Ghost Rider was getting a series but it was fully cancelled so he could appear in a film. Moon Knight season 2, Ironfist and White Tiger series are the only ones currently in the works.”

Though not confirmed, it was believed that either Norman Reedus or Keanu Reeves would have portrayed the role as they have expressed their intention of portraying the role of Johnny Cage, where the John Wick actor revealed his dream Marvel role would be “Ghost Rider” on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Fans Were Not Delighted With The Idea of a Ghost Rider Show Getting Cancelled

When HolyField News announced that a potential show has been canceled by Bob Iger, they were infuriated on social media as it has been ages since they have seen one of their favorite characters making a magnificent return to the MCU. Moreover, with the dedicated fan base, the film had built in just two films, the show would have been a massive hit.

Clearly, the fans were displeased with the show getting cancelled and the rumor met with a negative response, with some questioning the credibility of the account.

Even though there has been no confirmation regarding the rumored TV show that could potentially feature Reeves or Reedus in the role of Johnny Cage; one thing is for sure- how Marvel Studios and Bob Iger have made a grave mistake in canceling the show that would have brought success and faith of the fans in Marvel TV Shows.
