Duane appeared in the first instalment of the zombie series when he and his father stumbled across Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln), who had just woken from a coma.

The youngster hit Rick across the face with a shovel after he tried to attract the attention of a man, who he hadn’t realised was a walker.

When Duane and Morgan (Lennie James) realised that the sheriff is still human, they took him into their home and explained the events that followed the outbreak.

Viewers last saw Duane at the end of the episode when Rick left him and Morgan with ammunition to survive the apocalypse.

In season three, Rick found Morgan in an abandoned town and learned that Duane was left in an apartment while he searched the basement.

When he returned, his son was pointing his gun at his mother but was unable to shoot her so she bit him, subsequently turning him into a zombie too.

Now, Adrian Kali Turner, who starred Duane is all grown-up and looks very different to the scared and vulnerable youngster viewers were introduced to in 2010.
