LIZZIE SAMUEL’S death was easily one of the most controversial in The Walking Dead’s history, but now actress Brighton Sharbino is all grown up and she’s unrecognisable today.
The Walking Dead’s Carol left with no choice but to kill Lizzie
Joined by her sister Mika, Lizzie was informally adopted by Carol who vowed to raise the siblings as her own following the death of their father.
The sisters were drastically polarised throughout their time in the zombie-epic, with Lizzie proving capable of taking a human life but unable to destroy walkers with whom she felt an emotional connection, while Mika thrived on killing walkers but showed too much compassion to kill humans.
Eventually, Lizzie’s relationship with walkers proved deadly as she killed her own sister with no remorse just to show Carol that walkers and people aren’t that different.
In one of the most heartbreaking moments of The Walking Dead, Carol took Lizzie out into the garden to “look at the flowers”, pulled out a gun and shot the child in the head.
