Prince William and Kate Middleton ‘furious’ over one surprising aspect of Harry and Meghan’s Colombia tour

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are on the third day of their Colombia tour, with the trip believed to be causing a lot of anger among some members of the Royal Family

Prince William and Kate Middleton are trying to enjoy their summer holidays, but one expert says the pair are “furious” over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s tour of Colombia.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are on the third day of their four-day trip to the South American country. So far the two have enjoyed a musical performance at a local arts center and taken part in a Responsible Digital Future forum.

Some people have likened the trip to a royal tour, with the comparison believed to have angered the Prince and Princess of Wales. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror US, royal expert Tom Quinn said: “Prince William and Kate will soon be in Balmoral for their annual summer holiday, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be thinking a great deal about Meghan and Harry‘s tour of Columbia.

“Along with King Charles, William and Kate are furious that Harry and Meghan have allowed the world to think that their Columbia tour is in some way an officially sanctioned royal tour.” Harry and Meghan left the Royal Family four years ago, and have since then conducted their charity work with their Archewell Foundation and not as official royal tours.

Quinn said: “Prince William and King Charles regularly refer to Meghan and Harry as the ‘fake Royals’ or the outlaw royals, and the tour of Columbia will have confirmed their view that Harry and Meghan are organizing these tours – including their previous tour to Nigeria – partly to stick two fingers up at the Royals back in the UK.”

Harry and Meghan’s tour of Colombia comes just months after they visited Nigeria. During their trip to Nigeria, they spoke about their work with the Invictus Games and met with schoolchildren and servicepeople.

Speaking about Harry and Meghan’s latest trip to Colombia, Quinn suggested the Royal Family has decided not to comment on it. He told us: “A decision has been taken that any comment on the Columbia tour just gives it the oxygen of publicity so Prince William and Kate will be saying nothing.

“Instead they are concentrating on their family and on wishing the Princess Royal a happy birthday – Anne’s importance in the family has increased dramatically after her recent accident and the publicity about just how hard she has been working in recent years.”

Indeed, the Prince and Princess of Wales took to social media earlier this week to wish the Princess Royal a very happy birthday. “Wishing a very happy birthday to The Princess Royal!” they wrote alongside a series of pictures.
