Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 Trailer

A new trailer for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 outright spoils how the character gets to France. Set after the events of the original series, the spinoff follows the titular crossbow-wielding character as he washes ashore in France, the origin of the zombie outbreak, and as he attempts to return home, forms connections with new characters along the way. Other than Norman Reedus reprising his role, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2, subtitled The Book of Carol, sees Melissa McBride returning to her character as a series regular after appearing during the season 1 finale.

Now, the official account for The Walking Dead on X, formerly Twitter, has shared a new trailer for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 that outright spoils how Carol gets to France. Watch the video below:

The trailer teases Carol’s search for Daryl and reveals that, with the help of an unnamed pilot, flies a biplane across the Atlantic Ocean to France, crash-landing in a field filled with walkers hidden beneath the tall grass.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 Trailers Have Spoiled Some Of Its Biggest Moments

Daryl & Carol’s Reunion Was Also Spoiled

In addition to revealing how Carol gets to France, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 trailer screened at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 also confirmed Daryl and Carol’s eventual reunion. During the trailer’s closing moments, an out-of-focus Carol appears behind Daryl, teasing their long-awaited reunion. While the trailer doesn’t reveal the full extent of their reunion, it does assure audiences that Daryl and Carol will finally reconnect in the upcoming season, and it will likely happen sooner rather than later.

Although the trailers technically spoil how Carol gets to France and her eventual reunion with Daryl, this should come more as a relief than as frustration for fans. The knowledge that Daryl and Carol will be together early on in season 2 should be comforting, both on a purely emotional level, but also since it suggests that season 2 won’t drag out their reunion. It’s a smart move since delaying the moment could have risked irritating audiences. Instead, bringing the two fan-favorite characters together quickly should satisfy viewers and maintain the momentum of the story.

Daryl Dixon season 2 likely learned from The Ones Who Live, in which Rick and Michonne’s reunion also happened early in the series and greatly benefited the show’s pacing. Similar to those two characters, Daryl and Carol’s relationship is beloved, and their reunion is highly anticipated. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 trailer hints that audiences won’t have to wait long to see them together again, which bodes incredibly well for the upcoming episodes.
