Prince Harry and Meghan Markle find themselves increasingly cut off by their famous friends who now consider the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “less appealing” due to numerous scandals, according to a PR expert.
Negative press has following the pair ever since they announced their decision to step down as working members of the British Royal Family and headed to the West Coast of the United States to begin their own lives, specifically to avoid the media.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle delight fans with heartwarming gesture
The infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey, loss of their Spotify contract and their seemingly endless feud with Harry’s relatives has apparently seen their friends begin to withdraw from them, according to Ronn Torossian, a PR expert.
“It’s clear that several of Meghan‘s high-profile friendships have cooled over the past few years,” Torossian said to The Express. “Either situation, the lack of public support or the lack of gifting, would speak to the cooling of these relationships and the shrinking of her Hollywood circle.
“Additionally, some may want to avoid any potential fallout with the reigning British Royal Family. It’s not necessarily about Harry or Meghan themselves.
“But rather the complex and polarizing controversies that continue to follow them despite their attempts to step back from public life.”
The Sussexes continue to become estranged
Markle was previously close to Oprah, Tyler Perry and George Clooney and his wife, but those friendships appear to have faded into the background after previously being so public to the world.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry‘s relationships with Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as King Charles III and Queen Camilla remain strained at best as they all go months without seeing or talking to each other.
Additionally, friendships with stars such as the Beckhams, Clooneys, Elton John and Serena Williams appear to have built up a distance between them, whilst an ex-butler claims multiple Hollywood names “turned down recent invites.”
“The true A-listers, who move in those circles, realize that Harry and Meghan’s brand isn’t as popular or as valuable, to be associated with as the real royal brand,” Paul Burrell, who served Princess Diana, told The New York Post. “And I can see people dropping like flies around them.”
