The Walking Dead: Dead City is the latest spin-off from the hit zombie franchise and stars Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan – here’s a look at the cast and where you’ve seen them before

Maggie Green and Negan are back in the latest spin-off from The Walking Dead franchise, set to air on Sky TV. The Walking Dead: Dead City features Maggie and Negan venturing into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, isolated from the mainland, in search of Maggie’s kidnapped son, Hershel.
The series, starring Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, initially aired in the US on AMC on June 18, 2023, with a second season due next year. The first series of The Walking Dead: Dead City will finally broadcast on Sky Max on Thursday, August 22 at 9pm.
The cast also includes Orange Is The New Black’s Dascha Polanco, Animal Kingdom’s Jake Weary, It Follows’ Keir Gilchrist, and Terrifier’s Pooya Mohseni.

Lauren Cohan plays Maggie Greene
Glenn’s widow leads the Hilltop Colony, a group of survivors who moved from Virginia to New York. She is determined to find her abducted son Hershel in a decaying city teeming with the dead and disturbing characters.

This is Lauren Cohan’s most notable role, in addition to parts in supernatural teen drama The Vampire Diaries, Chuck and Modern Family. She has starred in numerous films including psychological thriller horror The Boy, the biographical drama on Tupac All Eyez on Me and Batman v Superman, reports the Express.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays Negan
The ex-Saviors chief, who turned into an ally in the latter part of The Walking Dead, departed the Commonwealth with his expectant spouse Annie to forge a new life. She now forms an unexpected bond with Maggie, Glenn’s widow, whom he infamously killed.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan has made a name for himself on both the small and big screens, known for roles such as the Comedian in the superhero flick Watchmen, Clay in The Losers, Sgt. Maj Andrew Tanner in Red Dawn, and appearances in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Gaius Charles plays Perlie Armstrong
Perlie, serving as a marshal for the New Babylon Federation, is charged with the pursuit of Negan. The US actor gained fame for his role as Brian “Smash” Williams in the TV series Friday Night Lights and as Dr. Shane Ross in Grey’s Anatomy.
Željko Ivanek plays “The Croat”
Hailing from Croatia, this Croat character is a ruthless ex-Savior who has abducted Hershel. He also commands the Burazi, a group of aggressive survivors who have seized Manhattan.
Ivanek has graced the screen in numerous films including Hannibal, Black Hawk Down, Live Free or Die Hard, The Bourne Legacy, Argo, and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
Mahina Napoleon plays Ginny
A young girl in Negan’s protection, Ginny is selectively mute after witnessing her father’s harrowing demise. Her father was a victim of Negan, who is now sought for his murder.
This marks Mahina Napoleon’s inaugural significant acting gig.
