Marvel Adapts Star Wars: Ahsoka into a Comic Series

Ahsoka uses her lightsabers

Ever since Star Wars #1 came out in 1977, Marvel has famously been adapting classic Star Wars stories from other media into the world of comic books, and that continues with Marvel’s new adaptation of the first season of the hit Star Wars: Ahsoka TV series in next week’s Star Wars: Ahsoka #1, and CBR has an exclusive preview of the issue.

Star Wars: Ahsoka #1 is from writer Rodney Barnes, penciler Steven Cummings, inker Wayne Faucher, colorist Rachelle Rosenberg, and letterer Travis Lanham, and it follows the opening of the Ahsoka TV series (starring Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka), as Ahsoka searches for a map to find where Grand Admiral Thrawn is hiding out, to prevent the remnants of the Imperial Forces to find Thrawn, and bring him back to lead the remains of the Empire.

After the fall of THE EMPIRE, AHSOKA TANO stalks the galaxy for GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN!

• A valuable prisoner escapes New Republic custody; a search for answers reunites two old friends.

• The villainous MORGAN ELSBETH returns along with two new mysterious Force users, BAYLAN SKOLL and his apprentice, SHIN HATI.

• Will the REBELS be able to track down their lost comrade, EZRA BRIDGER?

In the preview pages, we see Ahsoka visiting a deserted temple, and use her lightsabers to enter the grounds below. She then discovers a mysterious orb, that serves as some sort of map.

However, Ahsoka is then attacked by some battle droids, and she must fight her way out of the temple, without being destroyed in the temple itself (as she needs to protect the map). She is aided on this mission with her droid, Huyang, but it is unclear whether Huyang is necessarily capable of getting on the same page with Ahsoka with her plans, like being able to serve as her exit route while she escapes from the mysterious battle droids.

Star Wars: Ahsoka #1 is on sale next week.
