Police are currently investigating the death of former One Direction star Liam Payne and it’s believed they’ve now turned their attention to footage of him falling
Investigators will now be examining CCTV footage of Liam Payne from the moment he fell to his death, according to reports.
The One Direction singer sadly died in October at the age of 31 after falling from the third floor balcony of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Judge Laura Bruinard, who is overseeing the investigation, has ordered police officers to get statements from the main suspects involved in Liam’s death.
She also called for further examinations of different phones and electronic devices held by the suspects to be carried out by the Special Technological Investigations Division of the Superintendency for the Fight against Cybercrime of the City Police. The devices were obtained following several raids by police.
Local media reports police will now examine CCTV footage which captured the exact moment of Liam’s death. The footage has not yet been part of the ongoing investigation.

The singer fell over the balcony and hit his head on the base of an umbrella in the restaurant area, according to Infobae. It’s believed Liam had been acting “erratically” shortly before he died.
The receptionist manager at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel has now given evidence in court about Liam’s final hours. They claimed to have called the star’s friend Rogelio ‘Roger’ Nores at 4.50 p.m. asking him to “please go to the hotel.”
Roger is believed to have confirmed he was on his way. The reception manager said, “A few minutes later the elevator door opened in reception and I saw Payne inside lying on the floor unconscious.”
Along with the hotel bellboy, the reception manager said he tried to get Liam standing up. According to local news outlet ViaSzeta, the manager, who wasn’t named, told the court, “Without saying anything he opened his eyes, regained consciousness, got up, got out of the elevator and sat on one of the stools at the bar that faces the street.”

Liam is believed to have fallen again a few seconds later, passing out on the floor. The two hotel employees were helped by an events organizer and one of the hotel masseurs to get Liam to the elevator.
They then took him up to the third floor where he reportedly regained consciousness. Liam was left alone in his room, with staff returning to the downstairs lobby.
The reception manager then called 911. “I explained the situation to them, that I was afraid of what could happen to this person because of the state he was in,” the staff member said. They added, “At that moment I saw a police car approach the hotel and one of the sales guys appeared and told me ‘he jumped off the balcony.’ I asked him if he was alive and he replied that he didn’t know.”
