Houghton’s death was announced on Instagram Tuesday by her sister Kris Jenner, who shared that she had died “unexpectedly” the day prior
Kim Kardashian is paying tribute to her late aunt, Karen Houghton.
Houghton’s death was announced on Instagram Tuesday by her sister Kris Jenner, who shared that she had died “unexpectedly” the day prior.
Kardashian, 43, remembered her aunt by sharing various photos of them on Instagram Thursday, writing, “🕊️I love you so much auntie Karen🕊️.”
The Instagram carousel post began with a baby photo of Kardashian smiling at the camera as Houghton watched over her.
It was followed by a photograph of Houghton sitting on a sofa in between Kardashian and her sister Kourtney Kardashian Barker.
The SKIMS founder also included a photograph of her and Houghton wearing matching red outfits in front of a Christmas tree and an image of the two sitting together at the bottom of a long staircase.
She showcased throwback photos of various other family members with Houghton, including Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon (Houghton and Jenner’s mother), Robert Kardashian Sr. (Kardashian’s late father), and Kardashian Sr.’s cousin Cici Bussey.
When Jenner announced Houghton’s death, she shared that her “heart heart aches for my mom MJ and my niece Natalie.”
“I pray that God guides us all through this difficult time. Karen was beautiful inside and out. She was the sweetest, kindest, the most sensitive and vulnerable and so so funny,” continued Jenner. “She always felt grateful and thankful for her life and treasured her family and friends and especially her beautiful daughter. She holds such a huge part of my heart and I cherish every single memory we have together.”
Jenner said Houghton’s death served as a “reminder that life is so short and precious and tomorrow is never promised.”
“We must tell those we cherish how much we love them. I love you my beautiful sister,” Jenner added.
Jenner’s niece remembered Houghton as “the best mother a daughter could ask for” in her own Instagram post.
“You were the most kind, sweet, loving, giving, and caring soul. You had the biggest heart. And I don’t know how to go on without you. It all happened so quick & I wasn’t ready for you to go,” she wrote.
