The famed plastic surgeon behind the Kardashian family has issued a reality check to people hoping to achieve an A-list celebrity look through surgery.

Appearing on The Face with Alex Pike podcast, Dr. Garth Fisher said that social media platforms like Instagram have given people a warped sense of beauty

‘Instagram came and then you see all these filters and it’s just not realistic,’ he explained.

‘And you can’t capitalize that and say, “I’m going to make you look like this filter” – it’s just not gonna happen.’

Dr. Fisher stressed the importance of letting prospective patients know that they’re not going to be able to achieve a filtered social media aesthetic in real life.

‘There’s different ideas of what patients want and if I don’t mirror that and I don’t think that I can – or want – to deliver what they want, I just remove myself from the picture,’ he shared.

‘I like understated – I don’t want people to look like they’ve had plastic surgery.’

Khloe was ridiculed back in 2020 after posting what appeared to be a heavily airbrushed selfie to Instagram.

In 2016, the Good American founder openly admitted to using editing tools to enhance some of her social media photos.

‘Of course I believe in airbrushing apps, I just think airbrushing apps, like who doesn’t want to airbrush a thing here or there,’ she told People magazine.

‘I love FaceTune, that one’s great. I don’t really know of many more, but a filter, that’s like airbrushing. Who doesn’t love a good filter? Sometimes you’re having a bad day.’

In February, Khloe was sensationally accused of FaceTuning her Russian Blue cat after fans noticed the feline’s changed features.

The star, 39, who – along with her famous family – has been caught editing photos before, posted a snap of her pet Grey Kitty to mark Valentine’s Day, but her followers quickly pointed out the cat’s ‘blurred’ whiskers and different eye color.

One fan wrote: ‘Even the pets aren’t safe’ with a second typing: ‘Even the cat got work done’.

Last year, airbrushing app FaceTune took a dig at Kim and sister Kylie Jenner by commenting on one of their photos, writing, ‘can they tag me please LOL’.

Other reality stars that have been accused of editing their photos include Patti Stanger and Sister Wives star Meri Brown.

Sandra ‘Pepa’ Denton from ’90s group Salt-N-Pepa was also accused of editing some of her recent selfies.

‘Too many filters… smh. You can barely see her nose,’ commented one fan.

‘They almost blurred her nose completely out the picture. She’s beautiful but y’all getting crazy with the editing!’ wrote another.
