Ryan Reynolds wrote some kind words for Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt’s The Fall Guy.

Ryan Gosling’s latest, The Fall Guy, has been attracting widespread appreciation since its premiere at SXSW in March. Despite an underwhelming box office performance, the movie attracted the fans’ love. Now it looks like the David Leitch brainchild has also caught the attention of another Canadian A-lister, Ryan Reynolds.

Reynolds, who is gearing up for his upcoming MCU big-release Deadpool & Wolverine, took to his Instagram story to praise The Fall Guy.

Ryan Gosling and Ryan Reynolds have been two of the most prominent Canadian stars who have been great in the industry. Both of them have produced several hits and boast a massive fanbase.

In April this year, during the premiere of The Fall Guy, Gosling addressed the teaser of Deadpool & Wolverine and spoke to Entertainment Tonight that he needs his shirt back from Reynolds- “I mean, I just want my shirt back… He borrowed that shirt from me and I need it back.” A specific scene from the much-awaited film featured the Deadpool fame sporting a shirt with Gosling’s face.

Now Ryan Reynolds has also joined the fun and took to his Instagram story to comment on The Fall Guy. The 47-year-old wrote that the Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt starrer did not disappoint and enjoyed on the big screen how the film gave a lovely tribute to the stunt community.

Finally saw The Fall Guy movie on the big screen and it did not disappoint. A beautiful love letter to the stunt community, but also a damn joyball start to finish.

Reynolds has been known for his connections off-screen. Blake Lively’s beloved once shocked the fans when he brought Brad Pitt for a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo in Deadpool 2. It is said that the star also used his connections to plan some insane cameos in his much-hyped Deadpool threequel.

While it is almost sure from the hype that Deadpool & Wolverine will be one of this year’s highest-grossing features. Unfortunately, when two stars from two of last year’s greatest blockbusters came together for The Fall Guy, the expectations were shattered.

Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt failed to get even close to their Barbie and Oppenheimer successes. Many fans may argue that the Barbenheimer phenomenon worked last year, but The Fall Guy also has its problems. Still, the positive word-of-mouth helped the film in some way as it is likely to cross the $150 million mark even after being available on digital media now.

According to Box Office Mojo, the film is currently standing at $145.5 million. Even after having a disappointing result, the positive reviews have helped in a slow but steady collection.

The Fall Guy is running at theaters near you and can be also rented or bought on Apple TV+ and YouTube.

Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool & Wolverine will be released on July 26, 2024.
