Is This the Solution Fans Have Been Waiting for? Wheel of Time Season 3 to Fix a Major Issue!

It-Looks-Like-The-Wheel-Of-Time-Season-3-Will-Fix-A-Frustrating-Complaint-About-The-Show

The Wheel of Time will return in March 2025, and season 3 of the Amazon series looks like it could fix a frustrating trend from previous outingsThe Wheel of Time season 3’s trailer teases a lot of big developments, from Moiraine’s and Rand’s destinies to Egwene’s ascension to Accepted. These moments from the third outing’s trailer inspire hope that The Wheel of Time will continue its upward trajectory from season 2. The show is certainly improving, and the trailer’s cinematography and raised stakes speak to that.

The Wheel of Time season 3 trailer teases events from the books, so it looks like the new episodes will also buck a controversial trend after repeated criticisms. Overall, The Wheel of Time has received mixed reviews, with fans of Robert Jordan’s books expressing frustration with the show’s approach to adapting them. The Wheel of Time has made many changes to the source material, and not all of them have been popular. Fortunately, the Amazon show could be turning things around on that front.

The Wheel Of Time Season 3 Looks Like It Could Be More Faithful To The Books

The Trailer Offers Hope For Improvement

It’s hard to judge The Wheel of Time season 3 based on one trailer, but the initial footage looks hopeful when it comes to adapting the books. The Wheel of Time seasons 1 and 2 diverge from the original story fairly often, and season 3 will still need to contend with that. Some of the changes, like the ones made to Mat’s character arc, will force the show to continue in directions not outlined in Jordan’s source material. However, the majority of big developments from season 3’s trailer connect back to book events, offering hope for a more faithful take.

The trailer’s increased focus on Rand’s story also offers hope, as The Wheel of Time has not really given enough attention to the books’ main characters. Getting so much more of Rand indicates that the next outing could be headed in a more positive direction. Unfortunately, even if season 3 does put the show back on track, it will be challenging for it to make up for all the ways it’s already burned book fans.

The Wheel Of Time Will Still Struggle To Appease Diehard Book Fans

It May Be Too Late To Fully Address Complaints

Even if The Wheel of Time attempts a more faithful adaptation of the source material in season 3, it will still have trouble appealing to diehard book fans. This is because there are already too many major changes to the source material in the prior outings, something that’s caused a large chunk of the fan base to become disillusioned with the show. Additionally, some of the changes make it impossible to properly adapt certain plot points without completely backtracking.

The choice to combine The Dragon Reborn and The Shadow Rising also raises concerns about how the plot of season 3 will be handled. Things look decent in the short trailer, but only time will tell if the new episodes live up to that promising tease. The Wheel of Time is clearly making an effort to get back to the source material, but it could be too little, too late to fully address those criticisms.
