“We’re not happy,” Gurira admits to TVLine. “We look like we were going to kill each other.“
Understandable after Sunday’s episode, in which Rick plotted to send Michonne back to Alexandria and Judith — without consulting his wife about it first. Something was obviously brewing when, in the last scene, Michonne grabbed Rick and pulled him with her out of a moving helicopter. But what?
“That’s the question,” Gurira says. “It’s a big question mark.”
Since we didn’t see them land on the ground, or open parachutes, could they be — gulp — dead? “No. No,” Gurira says, adding that the couple makes a splash. “We do fall into water. But you know — budget.”
“There is a shot of them falling into water,” Lincoln adds. “It’s quick.”
And it quickly turns into hot water. “It’s a reckoning, I would say, [Episode] 4,” Lincoln says, his leading lady chiming in to add, “And it’s time, right?”
Lincoln concurs. “Yeah, it’s time to work out what’s going on.” ’Cause this is definitely not the “Richonne” of yore. (With reporting by Matt Webb Mitovich)
What do you think? Is there any chance The Ones Who Live doesn’t have a happy ending?
