The new series is part of the MCU via the Marvel Television label that will air on Disney+.
Fresh off his Emmy nomination for his season 2 performance in The Bear, Walking Dead actor Jon Bernthal’s next project gets a release date. Variety reports that Marvel debuted exclusive footage, which hasn’t been made public yet, and a March 2025 release date for the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again at the recent D23 event in Anaheim.
The new series is based on the Marvel character Daredevil, a role portrayed by Charlie Cox in the same-titled Marvel Netflix series, which aired on the streamer from 2015 to 2018. Cox returns for the new series, which sees Dario Scardapane as showrunner and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead as lead directors. Written by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, the new series has a lighter tone than the Netflix series. The series was originally announced for 18 episodes but has since been dialed back to less, which is in keeping with other Disney+ series and the original Netflix series.
Daredevil: Born Again will reportedly see Matt Murdock (Cox) and Wilson Fist (Vincent D’Onofrio), long-time rivals, forgo their alter-egos to serve the citizens of New York. Despite their efforts, the actions of their past will catch up to them.
Daredevil and its companion series, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher, were all moved to Disney+ in 2022. This marked the first mature content shows added to the streamer, which then spawned the necessity for the addition of an age restriction feature.

Jon Bernthal reprises his role as the Punisher
Bernthal previously portrayed Frank Castle/Punisher in Daredevil season 2, which led to his own series, The Punisher. Fans have longed for him to reprise the role, and now their wish has come true as Bernthal will appear in Daredevil: Born Again.
Taran Tactical hyped fans when Bernthal and Thomas Jane, who portrayed the Punisher in the 2004 movie, were together for tactical training. Bernthal confirmed at GalaxyCon Raleigh that he trained with Jane for the upcoming series.
Don’t miss Daredevil: Born Again when it premieres on Disney+ in March 2025.
