Dearest readers, if you’re eagerly anticipating the release of Bridgerton Season 3, Part 2, you’re not alone. Penelope and Colin’s season wraps up on June 13, but fear not — there’s much to look forward to, including wedding bells, gossip, and plenty of twists among the ton.

If you need a refresher, the ending of part one saw Colin disrupting Lord Debling’s proposal. Colin told Pen that marrying Debling would be a mistake, especially since he had developed romantic feelings for her. Observing their argument, Debling, who favors a practical marriage over a love match, began to suspect that there might be something more between the longtime friends.

Debling told Penelope he cannot propose to her because of her unresolved romantic feelings for Colin. Heartbroken and confused, she rushed to her carriage, followed by Colin, who climbs inside. Colin proceeded to passionately pour his heart and feelings to her. They kissed (for the second time), leading to more, then, in breathtakingly romantic gesture, he proposed to Penelope.

“For God’s sake, Penelope Featherington. Are you going to marry me or not?” Colin asks while holding her hand outside the Bridgerton house. On June 3, Netflix released the official trailer for Season 3, Part 2, teasing what’s to come in the final episodes. Here are a few things to look forward to when the second part debuts on June 13.

Based on the trailer for part two, it’s clear that Penelope said yes to Colin’s marriage proposal. However, audiences will have to watch the fifth episode to hear her exact response to her crush’s whirlwind ask.

Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton told Netflix’s Tudum that they were delighted that the proposal was the moment to conclude part one. “We literally looked back at the script and we went, ‘Oh, that’s so good,’” Coughlan explained. “That’s so good because there’s so much you know is still to come.”

There’s just one teeny-tiny secret Penelope is hiding from Colin — the fact that she’s Lady Whistledown. “Colin is going to find out Penelope is Lady Whistledown,” showrunner Jess Brownell teased to Netflix.

In the TV series, Eloise and Madame Delacroix are the only ones aware of Pen’s true identity as the gossip writer of the ton. Eloise discovers her best friend’s shocking secret at the end of Season 2, straining their friendship and leading Eloise to form an unlikely bond with mean girl Cressida Cowper.

“You have not told him that you are Whistledown?” Eloise asks Pen in one clip, to which Pen pleads, “Eloise, please do not tell him.” Eloise responds, “He will find out … until he knows the real you, he cannot possibly love you.”

The Families’ Reaction To Penelope and Colin’s Engagement

Penelope and Colin’s engagement will surely cause a stir among the ton, and viewers will see how the Bridgertons and Featheringtons take the surprising news. The trailer gives viewers a glimpse of both families’ reactions.

In one clip, Lady Bridgerton gasps and says, “I’m delighted for you both,” while Eloise stares blankly into the distance. Meanwhile, the Featheringtons appear to stumble upon the engagement announcement in Lady Whistledown’s latest column. Prudence and Philippa spit out their teas in shock while their mother, Portia, hastily snatches the paper from Albion Finch’s hand.

The “Mirror Scene”

The trailer for part two also teases a memorable and spicy moment from Julia Quinn’s book Romancing Mister Bridgerton. In the teaser, Colin and Penelope are having an intimate moment while staring into a mirror.

It’s unknown how the anticipated “mirror scene” will play out on screen, but Coughlan previously told BuzzFeed News that there is one scene where she is “very naked” on camera.

“I specifically asked for certain lines and moments to be included,” Coughlan said of working with intimacy coordinator Lizzy Talbot. “There’s one scene where I’m very naked on camera, and that was my idea, my choice. It just felt like the biggest ‘fuck you’ to all the conversation surrounding my body; it was amazingly empowering. I felt beautiful in the moment, and I thought, ‘When I’m 80, I want to look back on this and remember how f*cking hot I looked!’”
