Rick Grimes Gets an Anxiety Attack While Making Love to Michonne
The Ones Who Live episode 4, above all, highlights the changes in the dynamic between Rick and Michonne since they were last spending time together.
They get into a heated argument about how Rick has changed from being the free-spirited man Michonne married into someone who’s grown afraid of escaping from the CRM.
Keep in mind that Rick lost his hand in his early attempts to escape the system. Since his hand was cuffed to the CRM guards, he took the riskiest choice of sawing his hand off himself.
The man has been afraid of running away since. That is until Michonne came back to save him. He confronts himself as they make love in the Greenwood’s empty building.
However, this wasn’t an easy task for him. In the middle of their intimacy, he ends up having trouble breathing and appears to be having an anxiety attack.
Michonne is quick to act as she calms him down by putting his palm over her heart.
This reestablishes the connection and puts him at ease to return them to where they left off in their relationship, something both have been devoid of for eight years.
This isn’t Rick’s First Time Suffering From a Panic Attack
In the original The Walking Dead season 6 episode 9 titled No Way Out, Rick Grimes brings his son Carl Grimes into the safe house after surviving the crowd of Walkers.
His son loses his eye. He stares at his team as they try patching him up before he loses too much blood. Everything went mute around him.
Michonne knew this all too well in the spinoff. So, she knew exactly what to do when she witnessed Rick spacing out in the middle of their lovemaking and attempted to bring him back into the present by reminding him they were together.
