Negan With His Bat On The Walking Dead TV Show

The Walking Dead co-star Jeffrey Dean Morgan gave fans some hope that the upcoming season finale won’t necessarily be the end to his bat-wielding character,

In response to a fan’s recent tweet, asking if there might be a “Negan Lives!” spinoff, Morgan tweeted, “We shall see. I’d like to think no doors are closed.”

“A great character with many stories to tell,” he added. “But again, much still to do here on twd! Many episodes still to shoot. Right now I’m just excited about that!”

Morgan joined The Walking Dead in the Season 6 finale as Negan, leader of The Saviors, a band of survivors from the zombie apocalypse that do battle with rival groups, seizing their assets and killing challengers. Negan’s weapon of choice is a baseball bat with barbed wire wrapped around the barrel, which he named “Lucille” in honor of his late wife. Negan has grown from villain to protagonist in the series, and the Season 10 finale put him on the path to redemption.

Production on The Walking Dead was curtailed in April due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, leaving its Season 10 finale incomplete and not airing until October. The show will provide six bonus Season 10 episodes to air in 2021 and will conclude with Season 11.

The Walking Dead stars Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton and Cooper Andrews.
