Zombie thriller fans can now see what happened to a group Rick and his gang left behind as a deleted scene from series two has leaked
FANS of The Walking Dead will be relieved to know a huge hole in the story from series one was in fact resolved — and can now be watched.
In the episode Vatos from the first series, Rick Grimes and his team of zombie survivors visited an Atlanta nursing home and helped those still alive by giving them guns and ammo, before leaving.

However, after that, viewers have never learned what happened to this group of people, including a lot of sick pensioners, plus nurse Guillermo and caretaker Felipe.
Until now, that is.

It turns out a scene was actually filmed to tie up this plot line, but was subsequently never used.
Now this deleted scene has been circulating online, and it appears those people from Vatos did not survive the walkers and were shot dead by Rick’s gang on their return.
It turns out that before the team moved on to Fort Benning, and before young Sophia got chased off the highway by walkers, they were supposed to return to the nursing home.
More scenes like this, tying up other mysteries, were also shelved because material from two planned episodes opening series two was squashed into one.

This and the other scenes were cut to ensure the pace of the second series did not slacken, according to writer Robert Kirkman and producer Glen Mazzara.
The Walking Dead continues with series eight in October this year, following a very dramatic series seven finale last month with several unexpected character deaths.
