Wicked Part 2 got a new title this week – Wicked: For Good – and now, we’re revealing who is returning from movie 1.

Many of the main cast members will definitely be back. The status of 2 of the film’s stars are up-in-the-air. In addition, we’re assuming that one character won’t be back, based on what happens in the Broadway musical.

The movie hits theaters on November 21, 2025.

Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba – Returning!

Cynthia Erivo will definitely be back to continue Elphaba’s story.

Ariana Grande as Glinda – Returning!

Ariana Grande will be back as Glinda in the second film.

Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero – Returning!

Jonathan Bailey will return as Fiyero.

Ethan Slater as Boq – Returning!

Ethan Slater will be back to continue Boq’s journey.

Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard – Returning!

Jeff Goldblum will return as the Wizard.

Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible – Returning!

Michelle Yeoh will be returning!

Peter Dinklage as Dr. Dillamond – Seemingly Returning!

Peter Dinklage‘s Dr. Dillamond is credited in Wicked’s second part, per IMDb. Dr. Dillamond does briefly appear in the Broadway musical in Act 2. We don’t want to spoil much, but it’s during a pivotal scene with Elphaba and the Wizard.

Marissa Bode as Nessarose – Returning!

Marissa Bode will be back.

Bowen Yang as Pfannee – Unclear!

Bowen Yang portrays Pfannee, one of Glinda’s besties at Shiz, in Part 1. Because Part 2 takes place in the real world outside of school, it’s unclear if he will be back in the same capacity.

In addition, IMDb does not list Bowen as part of the cast list for Wicked: For Good. We’ll have to wait and see if he shows up!

It’s worth noting that THR has Bowen listed as part of the For Good cast.

Bronwyn James as Shenshen – Unclear!

Bronwyn James appears as Shenshen in Part 1, who is another one of Glinda’s besties at school. Similarly to Bowen‘s Pfannee, it’s unclear if Shenshen will be featured in Glinda’s scenes in For Good because they are no longer in school.

In addition, IMDb also does not list Bronwyn as part of the cast list for Wicked: For Good. We’ll have to wait and see if she shows up!

Elphaba & Nessarose’s Dad – Dies

Elphaba and Nessarose’s father dies of shame when he hears what happened with Elphaba in Oz at the end of Wicked‘s part one.

In the montage at the end of the first film, we see Nessarose at home with her father, who collapses while clutching his heart. We know from Act 2 of the Broadway musical that he dies and Nessarose succeeds him as the next Governor of Munchkinland. He is never seen again after Act I, so we’re assuming that he will not be in For Good. There’s always a chance he shows up if Jon M. Chu has decided to make some changes!
