In her Amazon Prime Video documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told — which follows the making of her original musical film, This Is Me … Now: A Love Story, Lopez discussed filming a scene with a dance routine that hints at domestic violence.
Her comments came months after another of Combs’ famous exes, singer Cassie, was the first to make bombshell claims against him in a November 2023 lawsuit. Cassie alleged that Combs repeatedly raped and violently abused her throughout the on-off relationship starting in 2005 and until 2018. The exes privately settled the case within 24 hours but recent reports say Cassie is cooperating with a federal investigation into Combs after three other women came forward with allegations.
Lopez and Combs’ troubled romance was well documented in the media at the time. In December 1999, Lopez got caught up in the rapper’s legal issues when she and Combs were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and possession of stolen property, after leaving the scene of a shooting at a Times Square nightclub. Charges against Lopez were dropped within an hour of her arrest while Combs was later acquitted at trial.
Despite Lopez staying quiet on the allegations against her ex, a source says the singer is “horrified” by the details that are emerging. “J. Lo is horrified by all of the accusations,” an insider told In Touch. “She and Diddy had talked about marriage at one point, but she left him for a reason. Now people want to know why and what she saw.”
“There were many wild moments with Diddy, and it gives J. Lo the creeps to think that she was with him for so long,” shares the insider. “She wasn’t happy in the relationship.”
Lopez, who dated Combs on and off between 1999 and 2001, has not weighed in on the allegations against her famous ex but a recent comment she made about experiencing physical abuse in a relationship has resurfaced due to similar claims made against the rapper.
