Elon Musk Who Claims Crashing At Friend's Place Secretly Bought A $4.5 Million House; Here’s Why

Back in 2020, the world’s third richest billionaire claimed that he was selling most of his physical possessions. He also claimed that he will not own a house. Musk claimed that he would crash at his friends place in LA and back at the Tesla base, he slept at the garage, as confirmed by mum Maye Musk. Musk later rented a match box apartment that cost $50,000. His accommodation made quite a buzz for modest possessions. The billionaire used to own several properties back in the day, which he sold. Meanwhile, Business Insider stumbled upon documents from custody dispute court records with his former partner, Grimes. The records state that Musk did buy a home in Austin in February 2022 and he still resides there. Per the records, Musk stated that Grimes and his children lived with him in the Austin house from April to August 2023. Per the filing, Musk claimed that the house was not in public knowledge, as he bought the property after the address of his rental accommodation was leaked. Per the deed of the property, the house is registered by an LLC. Reportedly, the house was up for sale in 2018 and pegged at $4.5 million. Per a neighbor, the mansion has round-the-clock security, with several Tesla frequenting the house. While the neighbor haven’t seen Musk in the property, they claimed to have spotted Grimes. According to property listing website Zillow, the 7,000-square foot house was built in 2018.
