Eloise is one of the best characters in Bridgerton because she is significantly different from the other ladies in the ton. Her disdain for societal norms and the idea that women have to get married to be happy has led to speculations about whether she might marry and who her partner might be. Throughout Bridgerton, Eloise has shown a certain reluctance to marriage and is often trying to find ways to scheme her way out of balls and promenades. However, in Bridgerton season 3, Eloise is actively participating in the marriage market, which might mean that she is ready to find a partner.
Who Eloise Marries In The Bridgerton Books & Why The Show Might Change It
Eloise Marries Sir Philip Crane
Julia Quinn’s fifth novel in the Bridgerton series, To Sir Philip, With Love, focuses on Eloise’s story. Following the death of Sir Philip Cranes’ wife, Marina Thompson, Eloise enters into a correspondence with Sir Philip, which eventually leads to their marriage. Eloise did not expect to marry, thinking that she and her best friend Penelope would be spinsters together. However, when Penelope and Collin got married, Eloise felt alone, which prompted her to start a correspondence with Sir Philip Crane that later turned to love. The two got married and Eloise adopted his two children, Oliver and Amanda.

Theory: Eloise Marries Lord Debling In The Bridgerton Show
Eloise And Lord Debling Would Make The Perfect Match
Image via NetflixA Bridgerton season 3 theory has predicted that Eloise might marry Lord Debling. Eloise and Lord Debling do not seem like the most obvious match, but their personalities complement each other. Lord Debling wants a practical but happy marriage with a woman who is fine with the amount of time he spends traveling. On the other hand, Eloise doesn’t want to be a typical wife. She wants the time and freedom to read and pursue her interests, which marrying Lord Debling would allow her to do.
The absence of Marina Thompson in Bridgerton season 3 supports the theory that Eloise might marry Lord Debling. Marina is the catalyst that started Eloise and Sir Philip’s relationship. Without her, Eloise has no reason to start a correspondence with him. Further, Lord Debling has had a decent bit of screen time since he was introduced in Bridgerton as a possible marriage match for Penelope. It would be easy for the show to bring Lord Debling back since he is an already-established character.
What Eloise Marrying Lord Debling Would Mean For Bridgerton’s Future
Eloise’s Season Could Be Delayed
Eloise marrying Lord Debling would mean that her season could be further down the line. For their romance to be possible, the series needs time to gradually develop Eloise’s new plotline, especially because she has spent most of Bridgerton saying that marriage shouldn’t be a woman’s only goal. It wouldn’t make sense if she was suddenly thrust into a different romance and life without careful thought and execution.
The book version of Eloise ends up with Sir Philip, and she becomes a mom the moment they get married. Marrying Sir Philip would mean that whateverfreedom or plans Eloise had envisioned for her life would not come to fruition because her focus would be on being a wife and a mother. Ending up with Lord Debling is a better alternative for Eloise because she wants more out of life than marriage. Although the theory that Eloise might end up with Lord Debling carries some weight, it is difficult to know for certain whether that’s the direction that Bridgerton will go.
