Eminem has shared a cryptic message on social media in which he promises to perform his “last trick” and fans are convinced it means new music is on the way imminently
Eminem has teased fans with a cryptic message that’s got everyone buzzing about the possibility of new tunes dropping sooner than expected – but fans are fearful it will also be his last.
The 51 year old hip-hop legend hit up Instagram with a clip showing a text chat, stamped with the date Friday May 31st, 12:00AM. Addressing “all contacts”, the message ominously declares: “…and for my last trick! “.
Eager followers are putting their bets on Eminem surprising them with fresh beats on May 31, with some suggesting a single might land before we wave goodbye to the month. There’s also speculation that his “last trick” quip could be hinting at his next album being the final bow for his notorious alter ego, Slim Shady.

Just last month, Eminem let slip that his upcoming album is dubbed ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace)’, set to hit the scene this summer. The big reveal came as Eminem rocked up at the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit, Michigan, his stomping ground, on April 25th.
Teaming up with NFL honcho Roger Goodell, they launched the Annual Player Selection Meeting. A teaser dropped featuring a mock reporter announcing the end of Eminem’s blonde troublemaker, Slim Shady. They reported: “Through his complex and often-criticised, tongue-twisting rhymes, the blonde anti-hero known as Slim Shady has had no shortage of enemies.”
Hip-hop heavyweight 50 Cent chimed in: “He’s not a friend, he’s a psychopath.”
The reporter went on: “The same rude lyrics and controversial antics may have ultimately led to his demise. Join me as we recreate the events that led to the murder of Slim Shady.”
Eminem, who last wowed fans with his 2020 hit ‘Music to Be Murdered By’, has teased his followers on Instagram with a sneak peek of his next album, hinting at a summer 2024 release. In March, Dr. Dre dropped a bombshell when he confirmed his involvement in Eminem’s highly anticipated album.
While chatting on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Dre couldn’t contain his excitement as he declared: “Let me explain something to you right now. Eminem is working on his own album which is coming out this year and I actually talked to him and he said it was OK for me to make that announcement right here on this show.”
Dr. Dre, clearly thrilled about the collaboration, added: “I’ve got songs on it and it’s fire. I’m actually going to hear the entire album for the first time tomorrow.”
He also shared how Eminem keeps his music under wraps: “He holds his music close to his chest, so I haven’t heard everything. I haven’t even heard everything complete that I’ve done, but I’m gonna hear it, and he’s putting out an album this year.”
