Eminem recently re-released his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), as a deluxe version titled the Expanded Mourner’s Edition. While the updated album is expected to make a big impact on the Billboard charts next week, Eminem has already scored another notable win this frame. The rapper came incredibly close to claiming another No. 1 hit on a pair of Billboard tallies this week thanks to a special collaboration.
The Oscar-winning hip-hop star narrowly misses topping two charts this week. Eminem was in the running for another chart-ruling single, but he fell just short of the top spot by a few places.
LL Cool J recently dropped The Force, his first album in more than a decade. The project’s latest single, “Murdergram Deux,” features Eminem, and together, the two turned the track into a hit.
Last week, “Murdergram Deux” made its debut on two Billboard charts that focus on digital song sales. This week, the single surges, climbing to No. 3 on both rankings. That’s a new peak for the song, and it may very well end up being its best performance.
“Murdergram Deux” currently holds the No. 3 spot on both the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales and Rap Digital Song Sales charts. The same two other songs remain ahead of the track on those rankings. Megan Thee Stallion and RM’s “Neva Play” opens at No. 1, while “Big Dawgs” by Humankind and Kalmi falls to second place.
LL Cool J earns a new career-best position on both charts with his latest release, but Eminem has topped these tallies before. The rapper has claimed 14 No. 1s on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart and 16 on the Rap Digital Song Sales ranking throughout his time as a superstar. While “Murdergram Deux” is LL Cool J’s only hit this week, Eminem appears in three different spots on both charts. His smashes “Houdini” and “Lose Yourself” continue to chart on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales list, and the former cut is also present on the Rap Digital Song Sales tally. Additionally, his collaboration with Jelly Roll, “Somebody Save Me,” holds the No. 6 slot on the latter ranking.
