Lucas Bravo’s recent comments slamming the new season of Emily in Paris haven’t gone down too well with his castmates, it has been claimed.

The 36-year-old has played handsome chef Gabriel opposite Lily Collins, Ashley Park, Lucien Laviscount, Samuel Arnold and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu since the hit Netflix show premiered in 2020.
In the first season, Gabriel proudly introduced his neighbor, Emily, to stunning French cuisine while also showing her the sights of the French capital, sparking a will-they, won’t-they love story.
However, after their budding romance came to a baffling halt in the latest episodes, the actor slammed the choices that writers had made for his character, and revealed he was questioning whether he would return to the program.
Fans went into meltdown over his remarks last month, and the cast and crew are now reportedly ‘so upset’ over his criticisms ahead of the fifth season.
‘Everyone is so upset about the remarks he made,’ an insider told Us Weekly, claiming ‘there is going to be a lot of tension’ if Lucas does decide to return.

Insisting that the ‘show will go on with or without Lucas,’ they added: ‘The show is Emily in Paris – not Gabriel in Paris.’
Season four of Emily in Paris premiered earlier this year, and followed the titular character finally giving her relationship with the foodie a proper go.
Unfortunately, things fizzled between them, leading to Emily spreading her wings and heading to Rome with new love interest Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini), leading to questions about what this meant for Gabriel – as well as the series as a whole.

In a candid interview with IndieWire, Lucas didn’t hold back when reflecting on the episodes, explaining that he has never felt so disconnected from his ‘guacamole’ character – who he slated as ‘oblivious’ to everything.
‘The “sexy chef” was very much part of me in season one and we grew apart season after season because of the choices he makes and because of the direction they make him take,’ he said. ‘I’ve never been so far away from him.
‘In season one, there was a lot of me in him. But as they made him kind of unaware of his surroundings, of the dynamic, always victimizing and always being completely lost in translation and oblivious to anything that is happening around him and being manipulated by everyone, it became not fun for me to shoot or to see a character I love so much and brought me so much, being slowly turned into guacamole.
‘I really grew apart from him.’
What will the future hold for Emily and Gabriel?
Lucas declared that he attempted to ‘bring nuances’ to the way Gabriel is written, but those behind the scenes don’t allow anyone ‘much liberty on set’.
‘We cannot change a word or an emotion. They know what they want and we just have to comply,’ he added. ‘It makes me question if I want to be part of season five … because my contract ends at season four. I really want to see if Gabriel gets back to his fun, cheeky, playful, alive self.
‘Because three seasons playing melancholic, sad, depressed, and lost is not fun anymore. It’s a comedy, everybody is having fun around me, everybody is jumping around, and I’m just slowly sinking into God knows what.’
