Cardi B has convinced the legendary Pam Grier that she needs to add pole dancing to her already-extensive repertoire.
The Blaxploitation legend stopped by Watch What Happens Live, hosted by Andy Cohen, on Thursday (April 18). There, she revealed that she’d been inspired by the “Bodak Yellow” rapper and the project they’ve been working on together, for which Grier wrote a script back in 2022.
“I’m doing presently my biopic as a series,” she said. “As soon as I finish that, I really wanted to work with her. And it could be in maybe two years at the theater ‘cause I’m now learning how to pole dance. And it’s taking a minute, but it’s a lot of fun. But it’s a wonderful story. I don’t want to give it away, but it’s perfect for her because she’s a great mom.”
She continued: “I’m the pole dancer. And she teaches me.”
Pam Grier isn’t the only legend that has nothing but love for Cardi B. Back in November, the legendary Patti Labelle revealed that she, too, loved the former Love & Hip Hop star, praising her as a “beautiful spirit.”
Cardi B and Patti LaBelle have “the friendship we didn’t know we needed,” according to Tamron Hall, who hosted the R&B legend on her eponymous show to talk about her delicious Patti’s Good Life pies and her new culinary collaboration with the “Bodak Yellow” rapper.
The LaBelle leader stopped by the longtime journalist’s show to talk about the “Holiday Harmony” campaign and her experience with the Bronx-born rapper.
Ms. Patti noted that Cardi B was a little “starstruck” when she met the legendary singer, but that Bardi and her family — including her sister Hennessy Carolina, whom LaBelle hilariously referred to as “Chardonnay” — couldn’t have been kinder.
“I’ve always wanted to meet her, and when I met her she said, ‘I’m just so excited to meet you,’” LaBelle said. “All of the people that came with me? She talked to the kids on the phone at home, she did everything nice, she’s not a diva. She’s a beautiful spirit.”
She continued: “She’s the Baby Patti. Cardi is the Baby Patti.”
