Henry Cavill as Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine and Wolverine with the brown and tan costume in Marvel Comics

Henry Cavill’s Wolverine could have looked slightly different in Deadpool & Wolverine. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has managed to bring in DC’s former Superman, with Cavill being one of the most shocking cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine. The actor had a brief role in the movie, appearing in a montage of Deadpool visiting several multiverse versions of Wolverine. Still, Cavill’s look as the character was impactful, and it could have been a little bit different.

On Twitter, Deadpool & Wolverine concept artist Wesley Burt shared alternative looks for Henry Cavill’s Wolverine.

The actor donned a simple white tank top and jeans in the movie, all with Wolverine’s signature pointy hair and mutton chops. The concept art shows that not much would have changed for the Logan variant, with Cavill’s Wolverine looks including two different flannel shirts that ultimately did not make it to the big screen. After Deadpool & Wolverine‘s ending, more Fox X-Men characters could return in the future, and even Cavill’s Wolverine could appear too.

Could Henry Cavill Return As Wolverine In The MCU?

The Multiverse Saga Has An End In Sight

After his cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, many fans want to see Cavill return as the MCU’s Wolverine. Going off his look as the character and how accurate to Logan he was in the short time the Cavillerine appeared, it seems like Cavill could pull off the role in the MCU. However, that is unlikely to happen. Cavill is 41, and with Marvel’s X-Men reboot movie most likely coming after 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars, the actor could be too old to play the new Wolverine.

Even if Cavill does not end up playing the MCU’s Wolverine, there are a few ways for him to return as Logan before the end of the Multiverse Saga. There are two major Avengers movies coming in the next few years. While the first one, Avengers: Doomsday, is likely to have a bigger focus on the MCU’s heroes, the second one, Avengers: Secret Wars, should feature the biggest cast any live-action superhero production has ever seen.

MCU heroes and multiverse players will have to team up to take down Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in the movie, perhaps in Battleworld, if the film follows the comics. Cavill’s Wolverine could appear then. The character could be given more screen time, serving as one of the main multiverse heroes that help the Avengers — a similar role to the Resistance in Deadpool & Wolverine. Cavill could also return for another brief cameo in a major battle, at least bringing back his version of Logan one more time after Deadpool & Wolverine.
