During the emotionally-charged opening of the Invictus Games at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, Prince Harry visibly teared up revealed Jeremy Freeman, a professional lip-reader. He shared a touching interaction with Meghan Markle that warmed hearts.

Speaking to a 40,000-strong crowd, Harry said: “We gather here in Vancouver in a spirit of unity.”

His speech continued with inspiring words, “Beyond any differences, here at the Invictus Games we are grounded in mutual respect, competing fiercely, but believing in one another.”

Stressing on the courage shown by participants, he added: “Over the past decade I’ve lost count of the times we’ve heard you tell us that the Invictus Games saved you. Respectfully, I disagree. Invictus didn’t save you. You saved yourself.”

An exclusive by the Express captures an intimate exchange between the Duke and Duchess before Harry approached the podium. Freeman disclosed Harry’s reassuring words to Meghan, “OK, I’ll be back later,” and Meghan’s heartfelt reply, “You’re amazing.”, reports the Mirror.

In a public display of affection, Meghan, 43, warmly embraced and passionately kissed Harry even as the event bustled around them.

Furthermore, according to reports, Harry subtly criticised US President Donald Trump, who has previously made controversial comments about Meghan. To participate in our poll on this story, click here.

Donald Trump recently made light of the notion of deporting Prince Harry from the US, despite Harry’s revelations of past drug use in his autobiography. Trump quipped that Prince Harry has “enough problems with his wife” referring to Meghan Markle as “terrible.”

These comments came shortly after the Duke of Sussex had criticised what he described as a prevalence of “weak moral character in the world” during his speech at the Invictus Games.

In his address to the crowd, Prince Harry shared: “At this moment, when there is no shortage of crises, no absence of uncertainty, no lack of weak moral character in the world, the values you embody, the way you carry yourselves – not only at the Invictus Games, but each and every day – your courage, your resilience, your humanity, illuminate a path forward for us all.”

The Invictus Games kicked off successfully, marked by performances from Nelly Furtado—a Canadian singer-songwriter who wowed the spectators with her famous hits. Following her was Chris Martin, Coldplay’s lead singer, who performed a special rendition of the Invictus Games anthem that he composed back in 2014.

Chris Martin also conveyed his respect to Prince Harry during the event and was later seen enjoying a lighthearted moment with the Royal and his wife Meghan. Additionally, the audience experienced a touching “shared moment of healing” led by Master Corporal James Gendron on the bagpipes.

Gendron, who has experienced psychological injuries from his time in Afghanistan after participating in 63 funeral-style ceremonies for fallen soldiers, was accompanied by other pipers and drummers. Together, they created a powerful sound that resonated throughout the arena.
