Michael Rooker as Merle, Bryan Cranston as Walter White In Breaking Bad The Walking Dead: Characters who belong in other shows feature image

The characters of AMC’s The Walking Dead are some of the most adored in modern pop culture. The likes of Rick Grimes and Negan are instantly recognizable figures in the entertainment world. The survivors of the zombie apocalypse are all desperate to escape the broken time they find themselves in.

It’s incredibly exciting for fans to imagine these characters calling another popular TV series home. Some of The Walking Dead’s major players arguably belong elsewhere in the television world. It’s easy to see these zombie killers settling right in amongst the captivating chaos of some of TV’s biggest series.

10Negan Smith Would Have His Own M.C. In Sons Of Anarchy

Negan orders Rick to cut off Carl's arm in The Walking Dead

No fan of The Walking Dead would wish the bad man with the bat away from AMC’s zombie series. Given the tremendous talent that Jeffrey Dean Morgan has displayed during his time as Negan, it’s fun to imagine placing the terrifying tyrant in a world where he would undoubtedly excel.

The leather jacket enthusiast has all the skills and tenacity to cause havoc in Sons Of Anarchy. The Saviors aren’t that far off from being a motorcycle club, and Negan is just the right level of ruthless to survive in Sons Of Anarchy.

9Daryl Dixon Can Hunt With The Best Of Them In Duck Dynasty

While it is incredibly easy to imagine Daryl riding his beloved bike in Sons Of Anarchy, there’s arguably one TV show that better fits his talents. All he would have to do to blend in perfectly is grow his beard out.

Whether he’s hunting squirrels, zombies, or ducks, Daryl Dixon loves the outdoors and hates showers. Duck Dynasty would make for a fitting home for Norman Reedus’ crossbow king, and one where his talents as a hunter and tracker would be most appreciated. There’s also a high probability that Daryl enjoyed a glass of sweet tea or two before the world ended.

8Shane’s Tough Justice Would Be A Perfect Fit In The Wire

Shane shouldering a shotgun in the Walking Dead TV show

Jon Bernthal’s hot-headed cop has all the traits needed to survive on the mean streets of Baltimore. Shane always seemed a stand-up guy when it came to law enforcement. But, given his attempts to kill his former partner and best friend in The Walking Dead, Shane was far from the loyal type.

This character flaw would make him an even more captivating persona in HBO’s The Wire. Whether Shane would have earned his keep as a corrupt cop, or have brought down his brand of brutal justice on Stringer Bell, fans will never know for sure. It is assuredly an intriguing idea.

7Paul “Jesus” Rovia Could Show Off His Martial Arts Skills In Cobra Kai

The Walking Dead - Jesus

Rovia’s karate kicks made him considerable opposition for Rick and Daryl upon their first meeting in The Walking Dead. Sadly, Paul Rovia’s run in The Walking Dead lacked much more of his fighting finesse. Rovia was undoubtedly an intriguing character, yet many fans expected to see more from him in terms of hand-to-hand combat.

Tom Payne even expressed disappointment after his character’s death as he had learned martial arts for the role. Payne felt he never received the chance to showcase his newfound skills on screen. Paul Rovia in Cobra Kai would of course solve that problem.

6Lori’s Love Affairs Would Be A Perfect Match For Desperate Housewives

Lori’s nagging of her husband in The Walking Dead is almost as infamous as Rick’s insistence on doing “stuff and things.” Fans quickly grew tired of Mrs. Grimes’ antics, and many were even happy to see her leave AMC’s undead series.

Given her apparent magnetism to drama and the fact that she had relations with the best friend of her husband, Lori would fit right in alongside the gossiping girls of Desperate Housewives. She may have believed her husband was dead at the time, but fans of The Walking Dead were never likely to forgive her unless the iconic hero did so first.

5Merle Dixon Should Be Moving Meth In Breaking Bad

Walking Dead Michael Rooker as Merle on the rooftop

Fans of The Walking Dead love to imagine that their heroes inhabit the same universe as those of the smash-hit show, Breaking Bad. Whether this is true has been fiercely debated ever since eagle-eyed viewers spotted a bag of Heisenberg-grade blue meth hiding amongst Merle’s stash back in season 2 of The Walking Dead.

Michael Rooker’s rogue could be a customer for the iconic Walter White. Or, perhaps, Merle could take up a role in one of Breaking Bad’s gangs. He’d certainly look right at home amongst the antagonists of season 5, Uncle Jack and Todd.

4Alpha Is The Kind Of Horror You’d Expect From American Horror Story

Alpha The Walking Dead

There is nothing more grotesque than wearing the skin of a corpse as a mask. If there is, it can likely be found in American Horror Story. Alpha’s terrifying appearance, coupled with an extremely unhinged personality, results in her fitting the profile of a prime murder suspect in this anthology horror series.

Samantha Morton always managed to send chills down the spines of viewers during her time on The Walking Dead. Her scare tactics could even have American Horror Story fans hiding behind the sofa.

3Judith Is Bold Enough To Hang Out With The Gang Of Stranger Things

Judith On The Walking Dead TV Show

Judith was born after the zombie outbreak in The Walking Dead. This means, the only world she has ever known is one without the roller skates, shopping malls, and Dungeons And Dragons of Stranger Things. Cailey Fleming’s character has the innocent likability and caring nature to gain easy entry into The Party alongside Mike, Eleven, and friends.

She’s also brave enough to take on any Demogorgons. Whether it’s the Upside Down, Hawkins High, or the undead apocalypse of The Walking Dead, Judith knows how to survive.

2Michonne’s Sword Skills Make Her And Kingdom A Perfect Match

Michonne brandishing her sword in The Walking Dead

Michonne Hawthorne’s sword-swinging skills and experience with the undead make her the perfect candidate to protect Lee Chang in the Korean zombie series Kingdom. Swordplay is a common sight in 16th century Korea. Even so, few fighters in Kingdom are as skilled with a blade as The Walking Dead’s resident samurai.

Though she’s the only character not to get a break from fighting reanimated corpses, she is exceptionally good at it. The characters of Kingdom would certainly appreciate assistance from Danai Gurira’s iconic walker-killer.

1Rick Grimes Would Lay Down The Law In Justified

Rick Grimes aims his gun in The Walking Dead Season 1 premiere.

With his colt python in hand and weathered Stetson on his head, Rick Grimes often looked as though he was made for the Wild West. Justified is essentially the story of an old west-style lawman living in modern times. The Walking Dead can be classed similarly as a cowboy cop living through the end of the world.

Andrew Lincoln and Timothy Olyphant either teaming up or facing off would make for incredible TV. Rick Grimes survived the zombie apocalypse in The Walking Dead, or at least he has so far. Navigating modern Eastern Kentucky would be a walk in the park for Officer Friendly.
