“Shut up” – “Iron Mike” is furious because of what he believes was a deliberate headbutt from Holyfield, causing him to hurt his own ear

Mike Tyson Delivers His Final Verdict On The Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk Rematch

Mike Tyson has given his view on what will happen when Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk rematch this weekend.

Tyson, who still holds the record for being the youngest man to ever become a world heavyweight champion aged just 20, has had an infamous rematch of his own.

It came in 1997 against Evander Holyfield after the first fight between the two ended with former cruiserweight champion Holyfield securing an upset win. Despite being the underdog, he knocked Tyson down in the sixth round then stopped the WBA champion in the 11th.

Seven months later they met in the ring again. This time, ‘Iron Mike’ grew upset with what he perceived to be intentional headbutts from Holyfield so time bit a chunk from his ear. The second time the referee stopped the fight and Tyson was disqualified from the contest.

On Saturday, reigning unified champion Usyk squares up with former WBC king Fury for a second time in Saudi Arabia having won on points to claim the undisputed title the first time around back in May.

Speaking to Fox Sports Radio, ‘Iron Mike’ gave his view on the first fight and claimed Fury messed it up.

“Tyson Fury could have won that fight if he wasn’t playing around early.”

He was then asked if he thought ‘The Gypsy King’ could win the rematch.

“I want him to be serious enough.”

Fury himself has admitted he will be more focused this time. In the past, he has proved that he can win rematches in an empathic fashion as demonstrated when he twice took on Deontay Wilder and knocked him out both times after drawing the first fight.
